I chose to read A Thousand Splendid Suns because it deals with a plethora of issues I find extremely intriguing. After reading a book on women’s rights in my law class, my teacher recommended that I read a thousand splendid suns. I took his recommendation for two reasons; I trust his opinion and I really enjoyed Khaled Hossseini’s bestseller, The Kite Runner. The Novel A Thousand Splendid Suns deals with a vast amount of political, ethical, and cultural issues that are still prevalent in today’s society.
