They may endure sleepless nights and loose sleep making them tired and unable to concentrate when at school. They may become disruptive in the classroom as they feel the need for attention. Should the child unfortunately be a victim of abuse, then this transtition in their life will affect them deeply, often leaving long term effects. An abused child will feel scared, alone and depressed. Their trust in adults will diminish rapidly, making them feel like they have no one to turn to.

By taking charge, Artemisia was forced to distance herself from her childish life to take care of her reptile family. This put her mental state at risk considering the fact that she had to give up everything in her old life to become this new person. At times she would repeat the phrase “At school I sit alone” (pg.15), by being alone the author creates a mood of insecurity, the need for someone to talk to her is present although secrets about her family force her to keep quiet. Due to the lack of friends and sudden change of normal life, her inability to discuss her feelings creates yet another obstacle since the constant reminder of sadness prevents her from coping with the situation altogether. Reptiles are known as cold blooded creatures, their scales are
Social factors – An example of a possible social factor could be a young person having to deal with the separation of their parents. The young person being brought up in this setting living with one parent and visiting the other parent in a new home may have a negative impact on a child emotionally. This separation from having both parents around you in the same home to having only one parent in the family home can cause a child to feel very upset and alone during this transition. This will also cause a lot of confusion, insecurities including lack of trust to adults around them and becoming afraid of caring for adults in and around their family homes. Another example could be the young person offending or being involved in anti social behaviour.
Even the clock, still a few minutes off noon..", time is going by slow for Ellen as she awaits for Paul to return to the house. Ellen becomes angry at Paul when she asks Paul to move out of the house "there was a dark resentment in her voice now..." so they can be away from the dust storm. Also Ellen wants to move because she thinks that it hard for their baby to breathe because of the dust in the air. The feeling of isolation creeps up on Ellen when Paul is not there and she knows that the nearest neighbors are far away and her house would be very hard to reach in the dust storm that she is experiencing. Another reason that Ellen feels isolated is of lack of communication with others this causes her to break down and eventually run away with the baby to try to get away from the storm "I'm so caged- if I could only break away and run".
This affects the client because she will not feel safe in a place that she calls home and will always feel paranoid because of the constant physical and verbal abuse which can make the client become depressed. This can also affect the client’s family because they will feel as if they won't be able to trust any other health care worker because of how badly the care worker treated the client which is not ok as mostly everyone except people that use private facilities for their healthcare rely on NHS and this will make people not want to get treated for anything as they don't trust the NHS and don't have enough money to use private facilities. Discrimination against religion in hospitals is also a discriminatory practice that takes place in the workplace. An example of this is in the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS trust Hospital a Christian nurse was directly discriminated against and taken of frontline duties after she
Due to her domineering presence this meant that any chance that child A’s mother had of being able to fulfil her role as the primary carer was undermined and must have caused great stress and tension within the family unit. This is picked up on by the child who will often display negative behaviour just before a home visit in the hope that care staff will cancel it. This would remove the burden of saying she doesn’t want to go herself which she feels would be like rejecting her family. This finally leads me to the grandfather who would have been the only male to have been involved in child A’s development but he appears to have taken a very minor role and chose to stay in the background letting his domineering wife pull the family strings. This meant again that child A had no dominant male role model in her life and reinforced the grandmother’s matriarchal role.
Puberty could also make the child become dismissive or make the teenager or child become argumentative with parents or carers. Starting a new school when a child or young person moves school they may start to feel sad upset and lost that they are leaving all their friends behind and may not see them everyday anymore. Moving school could make the child or young person feel nervous because they have to make new friends and could make the child feel anxious because they don’t know what will happen. This could also make the child become shy or dismissive they may start to leave school early try and stay home in the mourning. New siblings When a Child or young person parents have a new baby it could leave the older child feeling like they are not the baby anymore they may feel jealous or even upset because he/she may not be getting as much attention as before, this
Kids without parents suffer the most, there is no mutual agreement for what's best for the child. The mother would like to have things her way and the father his. They can't combine the sight of each other, even if it means sake of their child. This makes very hard for the child and for the school and for other facilities that has to accommodate for both parents separately. For example “in parent teacher conferences there are two copies of report cards, two of everything because the parents can't agree to share.” This is very sad.
