Garcon is a hero, not because of the way he performed when his country was in turmoil, but because of the way he was able to go out, strap on his pads, and proudly represent his people despite being affected emotionally by the earthquake. Pierre Garcon’s family described him as an honorable young man. At the age of 23, Garcon inspired many people to believe that just because someone comes from a poverty stricken community, it doesn’t mean that they’re entitled to live there forever. Despite having the earthquake flowing through his mind, Garcon knew that he still had an obligation to perform on the football field. Football is his job, his dream, his one true love.
They put all their strength out and remember that they are playing for the glory of Him. Their winning tradition has taught them that you gain what you plant; if you work hard, good things will come. It even emphasizes that point with Luke 6:38, “Give, and it will be given to you…for with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." The coaches had an idea that he needs to reach boys when they start, not when they fall off the rails into criminal behavior. The movie shows the team praying before games which was part of the fabric of the life of the team.
The characters from both plays are indirectly compared, for instance the two youngest sons, Cory and Biff. Cory and Biff were compared through football and their father's, the contrast between the boys were where they went in life and the relationship they had with their father's. Football was a passion for both Cory and Biff, neither of the boys played football past high school, but they were both good players. Cory was very driven to play football even when his father constantly disapproved. Biff didn't have the same drive that Cory had but he still loved the game, it was a lot easier for him to be more interested in football when he had the support from his father.
The interplay of faith and reason in the trial of Job is similar to that of Abraham (and the story of his son), as they are both put to trial in order to test their faithfulness to God. Even though this ‘test’ is beyond logical understanding, reason becomes overridden by their steadfast belief in God, meaning, although God presented challenges that seemed unreasonable to his believers, Abraham and Job both kept faith in Him, even if it meant losing their loved ones and properties, all for the sake of keeping God alive in their life. In detail, Job is a well-respected, god-fearing man who is very devout to his faith. There came a time when Satan approached God so that he may put Job to the test and prove to Him that his faithful servant was only loyal because of his abundance in material wealth. What seems incomprehensible to reason is why God, an almighty and good being, would let Satan freely oppress Job, an innocent man.
He was my grade seven football coach. I will always remember his patince, and how he somehow read my mind when I was having a bad day. Not only was he a fantastic person, but a remarkable football coach who I have learned a great deal from. One day I hope to be a coach, but will follow from his example, and hopefully brook the qualities of what it takes to make a good football
National School of Theology 2014 Christian Ethics Finale Karliss Kimbrough, Sr. Pastor September 24, 2014 My position on spanking •Give the biblical perspective 1. In Proverbs 3:11-12 the scripture says, “My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in." As parents this must be one of our motivation to discipline our children when needed shows them we love them unconditionally. It helps them handle what the trials and storms they will face as they mature in life. The bible's is very clear on parents disciplining, and God demands that parents be responsible and diligent in spanking, but strongly prohibits physical abuse of any kind.
He had a true zeal to learn the word of God for himself and pass it on to other. “Luther trusted Christ, and that Christ was with him in his and all people’s suffering; God was accompanying, calling, bringing him and all fellow sufferers into the life of hope and resurrection.” “Most fundamental is the first step, Luther’s teaching that by faith alone we are united with Christ. Protestants loved to talk about “accepting Christ by faith,” which certainly owes a great deal to this fundamental teaching of Luther’s. Usually, however, it is presented as a decision we must make, as if it were by our own free will. Luther, by contrast, hates the very idea of free will when it is applied to matters of salvation, for our confidence in our own free will lies at the core of our efforts to be justified by good works rather than faith alone.
In Beowulf the quote “Shield had a son, child for his yard, sent by God to comfort the people”(Beowulf episode 3) they believed God sent them the son to relieve them of all their worries. Unlike Pagans who believe that spirits send them people other things, Christians believed that God did everything for a reason. “So Hrothgar decided he would build a mead-hall, the greatest the world had ever seen, or even imagined. There he would share out to young and old alike all that God gave him” (Beowulf part 2) Hrothgar was obviously a Christian because he thought God gave him all his finer things in life. He thought God was the reason all the good things were happening to him.
Love is a spirit that is manifested from the heart of a man.Love draws others to Christ.as it calls all men. For God is the greatest example of Love. When he sent his only begotten son to the cross, yes he gave his only child to die on our behalf. When God renews his mercies each day, forgiving sins and looking beyond faults, and loving unconditionaly,God shows the attributes of love for he is love.unlike man who loves with conditions As believers must follow the example of love that God has given us when we received salvation. Love brings peace, joy and contentment of spirit. And can be learned through the word of God.
No human is perfect. God designed the Old Testament sacrificial system as a way of atonement for sin but it was no longer needed because Jesus paid the price for sin once for all time and for all people. The third theme is worship. In Leviticus we see that God’s desire is to enjoy fellowship with his people. Through worship His people express their love, honor, thanks and praise to Him.
