Assignment 013- Understand Partnership Working in Services for Children and Young People Task A Why is it important for children and young people that you work in partnership with the following people/groups? Parents, carers and guardians This partnership is very important because parents or carers need to trust the nursery and staff that work there. They will expect the best quality of care for their child. Partnering well with the parent or carer of the child will increase good communication including sharing important information regarding the child needs, wants and development. Building trust with parents or carers will result in them knowing that the nursery is a very good place for their child as it offers a great amount of help and support, which is especially important for new parents or carers.
Explain the importance of multi-agency and integrated working. How does this create a better outcome for children, young people and their families? Multi-agency working is different services, agencies, teams of professionals and other practitioners working together to provide the services that meet the needs of children, their parents or carers. These can include health visitors, educational psychologists, colleagues from other early year settings, social workers and parents or carers. Integrated Working is when all these professionals supporting children work together effectively to put the child at the centre, meet their needs and improve their lives all under one roof.
A responsibility practitioners have is to make sure the health of the child is paramount this could be by preventing hazards and carrying out risk assessments and safety checks. Question 1 1.1 The features of effective partnership working begin with the knowing that it is everyone’s responsibility for partnership working in order for it to be successful. The benefits of working in partnership are enormous allowing families to share information about their children’s development or learning and supporting those children with particular needs to receive support. Colleagues, professionals and others must be active in working alongside, sharing expertise, knowledge and a common purpose to improve the lives of individuals in their care. Respecting each other’s skills and contributions enables everyone working together share their expertise, recognise and utilise the strengths of all involved.
The young people we care for are encouraged to make decisions about their lives and their day to day care and activities. They re encouraged and supported in maintaining contact with there family member's and friends and other significant people in their lives. We encourage them to develop positive impact on their future. All our young people are protected from abuse and bullying and are treated with respect. They also have the privacy of there own rooms and are given opportunities of any child who is not in care.
These should be recognised upon arrival of the school environment. It is set out for the whole school to be aware of and is reinforced through daily activities. There are many positives to continually improving knowledge and practice within the setting to help provide for the best possible care and development for the children. It enables the practitioners to stay fully up to date with all standards and legislations and any changes that are made. Parents using the setting entrust the practitioners with the care , safety and development of their children and improving knowledge enables the staff to be able to explain different procedures used throughout the setting, such as the use of the EYFS framework, planning ect.
