Eye strain is the root of most eye-related problems. The symptoms of eye strain are headaches, blurred vision, tired eyes, color perception changes, stress, trouble in distance focusing, and losing place of the text being read. Any of these symptoms could trigger hypermetropia or myopia. Yoga exercises for the eye will help your eyes regain their natural, optimal health. Try the following exercises when your eyes are still fresh. It is also suggested to splash a bit of cold water in your eyes before starting. Keep a straight but relaxed spine and head while going through the exercises. 1. Palming. Yoga palming is pretty much Dr. Bates’ palming. Start by sitting and gently closing your eyes. Loosen up by taking in deep breaths. Then, slowly rub your palms and progress to vigorous rubbing until you can feel the warmth. Place your warm palms over your closed eyes. Focus Switching. Find a book, a magazine, or anything with small letters and hold it at the reading distance that you are comfortable with. With your left hand, cover your left eye and trace the figure of any letter for three seconds. After tracing, look away from the book and look at anything approximately twenty feet away. Don’t squint and naturally trace the shape of the object for three seconds. Repeat the process for five minutes before the doing the cycle with the right eye. 8. Nose Tip Gazing. Sit by crossing your legs and relaxing your shoulders. Raise your right arm and direct it in front of your nose. Make a fist and point the thumb upward. Focus on the tip of the thumb. Without losing your focus on the tip, slowly bend your arm and bring your thumb to your nose’s tip. Stay in this position for several seconds. Fix your eyes on the tip while steadily straightening your arm. Breathe in while bending your arm and breathe out when you straighten them. Complete the cycle with the left
