Flying like a bird, skiing through the Alps or plunging down into the deep blue and witnessing the spectacular marine life, do any of these appeal to you? Extreme sport can be an enthralling, esteeming and exhilarating experience however, like everything else in life it has a few disadvantages resulting in it not being as popular as a less dangerous sport: such as dance. ‘the thrill costs’- this is one of the more positive remarks made by people who have decided to be adventurous and jump off a cliff or fall out of a plane, however even thought I would, personally love to do these risky sports, paying my health for a thrill doesn’t appeal to my liking as firstly the cost of clothes; transport if it’s not very practical and paying to do the sport. On top of the daring sports have a very high percentage of health risks. 68% of skiers have been to hospital on account of having a skiing related accident. I’m quite alarmed by those figures! So, maybe extreme sports aren’t very safe. On a more positive note, a close relative of mine Kris has recently done a sky dive in Australia and he says, “It’s one of the most breath-taking, amazing and awesome experiences I’ve ever had. As firstly the nervous twist you feel in your stomach as the plane stretches higher and higher into the atmosphere. And then door opens and you begin to regret stepping into the plane in the first place and all you want is to be on the ground, safe and sound. The gushing off the strong, cool winds doesn’t help. The instructor straps himself into you and you’re off. Even though it was boiling on the ground the fall is as cold as a British winter however the free-fall made me feel bird-like, stress-free, extremely calm, serene and almost heavenly.
