Inclusive learning should promote positive behaviour and conduct. A teacher needs to recognise that learner comes with different learning styles and needs. Maslow stated unless certain need are met the learner cannot progress. Malsow ‘s hierarchy of needs theory is: Learners needs have to to be met in order for leaners to be involved and focused on their learning. For individual learning styles to be met, within a good learning sessions a teacher will ensure he/she takes a multi-sensory approach to teaching, this way each learner can work to the best of their ability.

Explain the purpose of the following types of assessment in learning and development • Initial Assessment • Formative Assessment • Summative Assessment Formative Assessment Initial assessment provides the information needed to plan an individual’s learning and improve their chances of learning effectively. Without it, there are only assumptions. It’s always possible to make some predictions about learners from an application form or selection test, but it’s an insecure basis for planning. Learners themselves bring assumptions about learning based on the past, and some of these may get in the way of looking ahead to a new way of learning.
One of the key responsibilities I feel for a teacher is to provide information, wisdom. In order to share their knowledge and understanding of a subject or topic a teacher needs to have a deep understanding of the topic that they are teaching. However alongside this a teacher should not claim to know it all, and be willing to learn from their students. ‘Knowledge may be seen as a level of awareness, consciousness or familiarity gained by experience, learning or thinking.’ (Jarvis 1987). It is important that the teacher appreciate any input from their students, whether the answer is correct or not.
As a teacher, one of the main roles is to motivate your learners to develop their ability and aspiration to learn. Some may read about delivering training and facilitating learning , but in reality a teacher does much more than that. A teaching role is not just about teaching your subject or preparing learners for assessment. The focus of a teaching role relates very much to inspiring learners to change and develop their personal, social and professional skills to the best of their ability. In this respect, the ultimate aim is to enable learners to understand how to take responsibility for their own development.
Describe the features of inclusive teaching and learning Inclusive learning is about ensuring learners have the opportunity to be involved and included in the learning process. It’s also about treating all learners equally and fairly, without directly or indirectly excluding anyone. Inclusion is about attitudes as well as behaviour, as learners can be affected by the words or actions of others. I see it as I am not teaching my subject to a group of learners who are all the same, but to a group of individuals with different experiences, abilities and needs which should be recognised and respected. Agreeing individual learning plans (ILPs) and/or action plans can help formalise this.
M3 Report Objective of Report In this report I will be investigating the variety of learning styles that exist and I will be finding out what learning style I am best suited to and why, furthermore I will see if I agree with the answer the questionnaire gives me and see if I can relate to the results. Once I find out my results to the different learning style questionnaires I part take in I will update my PDP (Personal Development Phase). Learning Styles The reason why we are studying different learning styles is because of two reasons the first being about academia and school life as we will be able to maximise are learning potential because we will know the best way in which we learn, we will also be able to maximise are A Level grades because we will again know the best way in which to study and this will furthermore increase our A Level grades because we will be working in the best way possible for ourselves. Another reason why we are study learning styles is because we will understand how to study better and how to overcome classroom limitations thus in turn reducing everyone’s stress levels as people will stress less if they know and understand the best way to study. The second reasons to why we are studying different learning styles is because of personal reasons such as to improve your self-confidence and self-esteem, to learn how best to use your brain which can never be a bad thing, gain insight into your strengths and weaknesses, learn how to enjoy learning more, develop your motivation for learning and maximising your natural abilities and skills.
Assessments are a crucial part of education and there is a need to measure where student are at in order to adjust curriculum and motivation. This needs to be done carefully and with very high consideration of the student’s emotional well-being. Rewards systems and positive reinforcement are crucial to creating a supportive environment that students want to be present in. * Nurturing- Creating a love for learning will make learning easier. Finding ways to make the material fun, engaging, and easy to comprehend will nurture a love of learning.
Normally, (for numeracy and literacy) I support the higher ability group for Numeracy due to the 1-2-1 pupil I support, and the middle group in Literacy whilst keeping an eye on the other rest of group (just in case, but they are normally competent to work independently). When working with a table or a group, there will normally be pupils who are at different levels. That is why it is so important to be able to modify and adapt activities to enhance learning experiences. One important contribution whilst the learning activity is delivered is to ensure that learners understand the learning tasks and to reinforce the teaching points from the input. Being aware of the needs of pupils and the level of support they require, whether learning or personality needs.
Different people adjust to different strategies. Most people adjust to more than one strategy. We just need to identify which ones through assessment. How the Awareness of Learning Strategies Influence Teaching and Learning It is important for teachers to understand what a student is going through in their process of learning new information. If you know the learning style of the student, it is easier to convey the message you are trying to convey.
Each individual has his or her own unique learning strengths and weaknesses. It is therefore vital for teachers to deliberately use a variety of methods to relate to these individual styles effectively. Understanding students’ learning styles could enable teachers to improve and adapt their teaching styles and strategies to meet student’s needs. When poor results and/or non-attentiveness are evident in the classroom this may be a mechanism for the educator to review the teaching methods used.
