In this assignment I am going to explain the potential effects of 5 different life factors on the development of an individual (P2). There are different factors that can affect the development of an individual those factors could be: * Genetic, this is something that is hereditary/from genes/past on. * Biological, this is something to do with the body/development problems in the womb. * Socio-economic, this is something to do with housing, employment and education. * Environmental, this is something to do with the surroundings. * Lifestyle, this is how you choose to live your life (addictions). Genetic - Asthma is caused by inflammation of the airways. These are bronchi, which are small tubes; these carry air in and out of the lungs. When someone has asthma the bronchi will be more inflamed and more sensitive than normal. When they come into contact with something that will irritate their lungs, which is known as triggers. Their airways become narrow, the muscles around them tighten and there is an increase in the production in the production of sticky mucus. The cause of asthma is not fully understood, although it is known to run in families. Someone is more likely to have asthma if one or both parents have the condition. Lisa is 26 years of age and she has asthma and she has a newborn baby. Unfortunately, Lisa has genetically passed asthma on to the newborn baby, charlotte. This would affect charlotte physically as she may not be able to keep fit by playing football or netball etc. as she will get out of breath easily and may lead to an asthma attack. This would affect her intellectually as she may not go to school in case of a flare up and they have an asthma attack. On the other hand they will learn about what happens when someone has asthma and they will educate themselves about how to identify and maybe eliminate triggers. This may affect
