SINGULAR EXPERIENCE CHARISSE HUDSON ENGLISH 121: ENGLISH COMPOSITION 1 RACHEL ORR March 11, 2013 1 Singular Experience Becoming a mother is something that most women dream of, just not at the age of sixteen. The situation surrounding my induction into motherhood was not ideal, but it was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. Having my first born, my son, changed my life forever. Nothing could have prepared me for the turn that my life was about to take. As a teenager I was a very selfish kid. I had a bad attitude and I did not take instructions well. I did not think I had to listen to anyone because I thought I knew everything. My mother worked more than a lot. She had three jobs which gave me the freedom to do as I pleased. I hardly ever attended school on a regular basis and I was into some very bad and dangerous behavior, including being sexually active at an early age. I was involved with boy my age. We went to the same school and rode the same bus, even lived in the same neighborhood. I was so sure that I was in love with this boy that I would have done anything to keep him around. So when he made a move and wanted me to be sexual with him I was a little hesitant, but I was sure that would keep us together. I wish I knew then what I know now. We dated for a while but he was a very popular guy and grew bored with me very quickly. When I found out I was pregnant I hid it from everyone for the first eighteen weeks. Once my mom found out she told his mom and of course he behaved like he had no idea what was going on. We fought a lot while I was pregnant, which made me an even more stubborn and angry kid. We finally just ceased all contact with each other. One night I went to the movies with my cousin and her boyfriend, I was starting to cramp a lot but I have a high tolerance for pain and I ignored it. We went to Walmart
