Women’s Missionary Society African Methodist Episcopal Church Minutes of the 2011 Executive Board Meeting Embassy Suites North Charleston Area Convention Center North Charleston, South Carolina January 26 – 29, 2011 Thursday, January 27, 2011 The worship experience began at 8:15 a.m. under the leadership of Mrs. Barbara Bouie, Connectional Worship Director, with the theme “Having a Spirit to Lead.” Mrs. Robin Porter Smith, 2 nd Episcopal District Worship Director, served as the worship leader. The Ebenezer A.M.E. Church Dance Ministry performed the ministry of dance to the song, “Faultless” by Tarralyn Ramsey. Presiding Elder Rosalyn Grant Coleman taught the bible study. Mrs. Djuana Wilson, Tanner-Turner Memorial Commissioner, conducted the Service of Remembrance, Tanner-Turner Memorial. The Episcopal District 3rd Vice Presidents and Members at Large assisted with the memorial service. The 3rd Vice Presidents read names of deceased Supervisors and Life Members. Dr. Delores Kennedy Williams spoke words of remembrance of Supervisor Irene Reid and Mrs. Passion Musa spoke about Supervisor Yvonne Kawimbe. Ms. Cheryl Jones, Recording Secretary, conducted the roll call. Seventy-three (73) members of Executive Board were present. Ms. Norma Cook, 1st Vice President, presented the agenda with the necessary changes. Mr. Stan McKenzie made the motion to accept the agenda. Motion carried. Each of our Ecumenical Guests greeted the WMS:  Dr. Barbara Shaw, President, Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society of the AME Zion Church; North America Area of World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women President, and the President of the National Council of Negro Women  Dr. Pernessa Seele, CEO, President of Balm in Gilead  Bishop Don Williams, Bread for the World Church Relations Ms. Cheryl Jones, Recording Secretary, read the report of the Commission on Administration
