Introduction As you know Nick faces a lot of dilemmas in The Great Gatsby. I have thought about ways to help him with them by coming up with a self-improvement plan. My self-improvement plan will help him with the problems he faces in a new town and good and bad decisions he stumbles into everyday in New York. For example one of the problems he faced was when he moved to New York from the West because his girlfriend was getting boring, he wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to handle all of the peer pressure and stay focused on work. Nick was also afraid of not staying organized when he moved. He faced the hard decision of deciding if he was going to help Dasiy when she found out about Tom. After he works and makes sure he has everything done for the day he can leave. After work he might want to go home and just have a quiet evening to himself and maybe cook a dinner. Before he gets ready for bed he needs to have everything organized and ready for the next day of work. On Tuesdays Nick again has to work. He will need to be up and ready to go to work with everything ready to go. After he gets to work he needs to work at an acceptable pace and not get behind. Before he leaves work he needs to make sure he has everything done. When he gets home he might be able to call Jordan to go out on another date and then come back to his house after they eat and watch a movie. Sometimes it’s good to have a girl to be there to listen to you. On Wednesdays Nick works again. He will need to be ready to go to work and when he goes to work he needs to have everything done by the time he gets off to meet his goal. When he gets off he might be able to find someone around town to go to church with so he can try out new churches around New York. When he gets back from church he might could go over to Jay Gatsby’s house and just go hang out but not let the influence of drinking get to him. Then before he goes to bed he needs to make sure he has everything ready to go for the next day of work. On Thursdays Nick is going to be working again. He needs to be to work on time and work good so he gets everything done. Later that day when he gets off he could go over Dasiy’s just to check and see how she is doing. Then the rest if the evening, just spend at your house watching movies or cleaning up. On Fridays it’s your last day of work so it’s going to be hard to get through. Wake up early and get to work on time. After you get off work and know everything is done and you have no weekend work you and go home and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
