The person who inspired me most to be physically active is Milkha Singh (born 20 November 1929), also known as The Flying Sikh, is a former Indian track and field sprinter who was introduced to the sport while serving in the Indian Army. As of 2013, he is the only Indian male athlete to win an individual athletics gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. He represented India in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome and the1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian honour, in recognition of his sporting achievements.
● The thing that inspired me about him was his dedication, hard work, effort that he had done to achieve his goal. He made me believe that hard work never go in vain. The thing that makes me respect him is his moral values, simplicity down to earth nature. He never ever cheated or made plans to win any race in his career, many people tried to stop him but he did not give up.
● When I was 14 years old a bollywood movie based on his life was made and after watching that movie I was really inspired by his life. After watching that movie I started doing daily exercises, going for jogs early morning and started taking sports as a serious subject. I would check my speed on a daily basis and after a month I also improved a lot.
● I have never inspired anyone. But, I would surely do a lot of hard work, effort and do whatever kind of work I am doing with full dedication and honesty.
