The following text contains some really profound material which might influence its reader. If you get influenced by reading, than you should not read this. Reading is a strenuous activity which causes physical as well as mental changes. Too much reading causes bad posture, poor eyesight, back pain and above all mental block! The more you read the more your views about a particular topic change. How do you know what you are reading is actually accurate? Reading is not the evil but reading unacceptable material is an evil. Influential text with strong supporting evidence can cause its reader to believe it strongly. Readers relate the text to their own personal conditions and sometimes make up false impression about their life. Generally a mass of the readers are interested in reading what relates to them. Frederick Douglass was one amongst the masses. Douglass in his essay states how he got hold of a book and read it whenever he got a chance. In his essay he states how he was interested in reading stuff that was related to his life for example, “Among much of the other interesting matter, I found in it a dialogue between master and his slave” (Douglass 429).Readers tend to read the text of their interest more frequently and relate it to their own personal condition in life. It has been a misconception that reading a text book is the best way to learn a subject. Sure lots of knowledge can be gained by reading a text book but sometimes experimenting and implementing your own thoughts can speed up the learning process. “Einstein believed that even though you should be literate and educate yourself, you should still take time to experiment and have independent thought. He felt that only learning by what was in a book would lead to not having any new thoughts or ideas” (qtd. in WikiAnswers.com) I am a computer science major and have to deal with logical statements a lot. I have always seen that implementing what is written in the book is sure rite but if I experiment my own ideas I turn out to be a better coder. We were given an assignment last semester about writing a program to search a phonebook for an individual’s phone number. Sure we had an exact same example in the book and surely everyone followed the directions in the book and scored well in the assignment. But I had to implement my own thoughts in the assignment I tried new things and saw how they worked out for me and made a totally different program for what was in the textbook. In the midterm we had a similar problem but we were not to use the code that we saw in the book. Since I had my own unique way of doing it I ended up doing much better than anyone else in
