Like Stars on Earth, ‘’Every Child is Special’’ By Hope Therese L. Villon This is the first time I watched the movie. The movie is about an 8-year-old boy named Ishaan who cannot cope with the academic demands in school. A young boy prone to colorful flights of fancy finds his hyperactive imagination may severe a greater purpose after being sent away to boarding school by his frustrated parents. He was at risk of repeating a grade level again because of his poor scholastic performance. Every Child is Special is a movie that can tug the heartstrings and at the same time, it brings hope that having a dyslexia is not really a desperate situation. Ishaan Awasthi is an eight-year-old boy who dedicates more time to dreaming up wondrous world of animals and kites than he does to finishing up his schoolwork. When Ishaan gets trouble at school and his parents reach the end of their rope, they quickly decided that the best thing for everyone is to send Ishaan away to a school where he can be properly disciplined. Upon arriving at his new school, Ishaan disheartened to find that things there are much the same as they were backed home. Later, newly arrived art teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh noticed that Ishaan is unhappy so he vows to break through Ishaan and unlock the promising young student’s full potential. The main character in the story is Ishaan Awisthi. An 8-year-old boy who has a dyslexia. Ishaan’s mother, Maya Awisthi, was that of a strict one that wants her son to be all prim and proper. She is also caring one who just wants what’s right for her children. Yet, she is a wife who is expected to be odedient to her husband. Ishaan’s father, Nandkishore Awisthi, on the other hand, is a stubborn man who wanted the perfect son and drives both of his sons to do so.
