Events in my daily life * Discuss at least two "real world" examples in which you use estimation in your daily life. Goggle maps are a thing I use for estimating my time when I have to go somewhere and be there at a curtain time. Driving or catching a bus you want to make sure that you get from Point A to B on time. I just type the address where I want to go and then it gives me an estimate time for where ever I have to go. When I have appointments or things I have to do during the day I like to estimate the time for when to catch the bus or something like that. When I cook I always estimate the time for when the food is done and ready to eat, I always tend to use a timer or look at the clock when I’m baking foods. * Discuss from your examples how estimating can have negative effects if you over or under estimated. Well if we did over estimate I think a lot of people would get lost trying to find their way to their destination, and people would be late to where ever they have to go. Under estimating when cooking food is not a good idea because your food would not be done and you would have to cook or bake it longer. * Think of an example in a real world scenario when a company or organization might use estimation and have negative or devastating results. Estimating incorrectly can make the company take heavy losses. For example, if your company is bidding on a twenty million dollar building deal and the estimates are off, the company stands to lose a lot of money, which in turn can create
