Every second of the day someone in the world dies. Death happens to us all whether we choose it or not, and in the end it is ultimately inevitable. It can occur directly or indirectly, on purpose or accidentally but regardless it happens to everyone in the end. A controversial issue known as Euthanasia is an example of death by means of a direct action. Death by means of a direct action is occurs when and individual dies as a result of another’s actions. Webster’s dictionary defines Euthanasia as “an act or practice of killing or permitting the death of hopelessly sick or injured individuals in a relatively painless way for reason of mercy.”There are two types of Euthanasia both which are important to differentiate from when arguing about such a controversial topic considering some people find a substantial difference between the two: Active Euthanasia and Passive Euthanasia. Active Euthanasia is administering the patient with a lethal injection whereas Passive Euthanasia is allowing the patient to die whether it is by cutting them off of whatever might be keeping them alive or simply just letting nature take its course. Although the issue here is not how the persons dies but simply the intentions around their death.

Euthanasia is a completely acceptable procedure in my view. There is no point in letting an individual suffer regardless of the state they are in. Suffering is a terrible state to be in and nobody would wish such a condition upon themselves and when being putting in such a situation, most of the time one would do anything to make the pain end. Imagine you were faced with a choice of how you had to die, 1) by means of lethal injection which consists of a very painless, quick death or 2) just having to lay there and experience intolerable pain and just wait around to suffer and let nature take its toll.
