Ethical Compliance Program Lowndes County Public Schools Ethical Compliance Program By Cody Calhoun Montgomery 79 A Research Project Report Presented to Mr. Ray Sherer In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements For the Degree of Bachelor of Science In the Management of Human Resources (September 24, 2012) Running head: ETHICAL COMPLIANCE PROGRAM BACKGROUND The Lowndes County Public School System monitors the Employee Career and Technical Programs (Career Tech) at the county level. The Lowndes County Public Schools System Career Tech programs offer a designated program of courses and learning experiences that begin with exploration of career enhancement options, support basic continuous academic and life skills, and enables achievement of high academic standards, leadership, options for high skill, high wage employment advancement options, and advanced and continuing education. The programs also provide studies that involve a multiyear sequence of courses that integrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge to provide employees with a pathway to various careers within the department. The course offerings are in Junior Reserves Officer Training Corps, Business/Marketing Education, Career Technologies Education, Family and Consumer Science Education (FACS), Jobs for Alabama’s Graduates and Technical Education. Career Tech is one of many entities that fall under the umbrella of the Lowndes County Public Schools System. Like other departments within the LCPS system, hired personnel are expected to behave in a professional and ethical manner. However, prior to 2005, The State of Alabama did not have a written code of ethics for employees.
