Most employers are reluctant to hire applicants with criminal records which impact the re-entry programs. The impact on reentry programs is instrumental to the high rates of recidivism in the United States. Barriers to employment: “The major States of the Union allows employers to deny jobs to citizens with criminal records”, as reported by the (2004) Legal Action Center. Holzer et al., (2003) suggest “certain occupations legally closed to individuals with felony convictions under state law as well as federal law”.

It is the hopes of these citizens to reduce the number of occurrences of these charges, and that is why this has been brought before the local legislation. Even later on in the movie, we also see that Will is a chain smoker, violent, and has extreme trust issues. He doesn’t have any friends besides the ones he knows are loyal, and he pushes others away before they have a chance to leave him first. After a good amount of therapy sessions with a psychiatrist and friend, Sean Macdonald, by the end of the movie Will’s problem seem to be a lot more under-control than they were before. Will’s problems could have been evaluated in multiple different psychological ways, including psychoanalytic, behavioral, cognitive, humanistic, and biopsychosocial. Psychoanalytic psychology would be the best explanation for Will and his actions / words.

In this case, that is exactly Office Jorge Perez had to do. As soon as he could, Officer Perez took an opening that he could not resist, in the well-off district of a large city. During his first month on the job, he caught three teenagers wrecking mailboxes and fiddling with the mail in them. After arresting the kids, an officer pulled him to the side and told him “they do things differently around here.” Although Officer Perez, being a “rookie” to a new civic, he should listen to the other officer, who has been there longer than he has at this point, and let the juveniles free with a warning and have the guardians pay for the damages.
Although this hidden secret has been exposed, companies are unfortunately doing little to correct the issue. A company’s failure to quickly identify and immediately stop the ethical problem of sexual harassment in the workplace, will ultimately result in lowered employee morale, decline in productivity, costly lawsuits, and destruction of the company’s reputation. I strongly agree that the ethical problem of sexual harassment is a serious reality in the work environment that must be identified quickly and stopped immediately. In my career in the United States Navy, I have witnessed and experienced numerous cases of sexual harassment. Consequently, I personally know and understand how sexual harassment can truly affect a person emotionally, physically, and mentally.
