From the very beginning of time, God created Adam and Eve, man and woman. God blessed the man and the woman with the words “Be fruitful and multiply” (Sacred text). From this point on it has been known that a marriage should take place between a man and a woman. Like I stated above same sex couples do not have the ability to do as God blessed, “Be fruitful and multiply.” In the church homosexual practices are known as “sins gravely contrary to chastity.” Whether or not people believe that homosexuality is a sin is, in fact, their own opinion. People who engage in these same-sex relationships will suffer consequences whether they want to or not.
Same-sex marriage should be legal. Homosexual marriage should be on the same playing field as heterosexual marriage. Once this feat is mastered then equality will not hold boundaries as it does at the moment. In an interview with Katie Wiley, 37-year-old heterosexual college student and mother, when asked what the benefit of same-sex marriage was, she answered, “The benefit of same-sex marriage is equality. Everyone should be treated the same whether or not they are homosexual or heterosexual.” Pondering her answer makes it clear that not everyone is equal.
The topic of same-sex marriage, or gay marriage, is extremely divisive in today's society. Many in favor of same-sex marriage suggest that gay couples should have the same marital benefits as heterosexual couples, which is simply a civil rights issue. The issue of same-sex marriage is an argument that all of us have heard, and most of us have strong opinions on. I know very few people that don’t have a preference of legalization or not. Personally, I believe that homosexuals should be granted the same rights as heterosexual couples.
SHOULD HOMOSEXUALS BE ABLE TO MARRY? PHI103 01/16/2012 The simplest answer to the same-sex marriage issue is to determine the true meaning of the term "marriage" and what degree has it promoted and upheld a stable society based on the formation of moral ideologies and the control of the law. Which I have determined should not be made legal based on this premise. Religion is one of the main reasons some people do not like the idea of homosexuals having the right to marry. One of the most used arguments about the issue is that God says that same-sex interactions (marriage, sex, lesbian, homosexual acts) are abominations.
Personally I have gone through arguments with many people about the proposition and what I stood for as a person. I do believe that it is a right for gays to be with their other partner, but at the same time I believe that marriage should be considered between a husband and wife, and marriage is not only done under the state, but under God. If homosexuals want to marry in a church or any type of religious place, they shouldn’t because as a fellow believer of God, I don’t see how they can get married under God’s name, where in the Bible marriage is seen between a man and a woman and not a woman and a woman or a man and man. And if they choose not to follow God’s view on marriage, then why should they get married in the house of the Lord? It just does not seem right.
Maybe I'm missing something, but doesn't the Constitution of the United States guarantee everyone the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? Homosexuality condemnation has long been a part of human societies. However, more recently homosexuality acceptance is rising. How homosexual individuals view themselves is vastly relative to historical and scientific perspectives on homosexuality. Because sexual diversity in contemporary times has become quite vast, these perspectives adhere to a worldly understanding of homosexuality.
“Marriage is both ubiquitous and central. All across our country, in every region, every social class, every race and ethnicity, every religion or non-religion, people get married (Nussbaum). The most common argument against allowing gays to marry seems to be that we need to protect the institution of marriage. This argument is ridiculous for many reasons. While the main reason people in the US seem to get married is out of love, it is by no means the only reason (Kellard).
Homosexuality "Marriage" is a bond recognized by various institutions, between a man and a woman. Not only a man and a woman define “marriage”, but pairs of the same sex fulfill the criteria of a successful marriage as well. William Bennett, the author of “Against Marriage”, dictates that allowing homosexuals to get married will change the meaning of marriage while Andrew Sullivan claims that "they make a deep commitment to one another and to society; in exchange, society extends the benefits to them”. Although, over the years, people have changed the essence of marriage to suit their personal needs, but many constitutions are biased towards equality of rights resulting in the condemnation of personal integrity.

Gays are a part of our society and should be entitled to the same rights as every other citizen. People should not judge others based on their race or their sexual orientation.
