Since its inception in 1975, PCAR has been at the forefront of the antisexual violence movement, utilizing its voice to advance the rights of victims and to effect critical change through its active role in public policy, education, and prevention. At the core of PCAR’s success is its statewide network of 52 sexual violence centers that provide counseling, crisis intervention, referral services; hospital, court and police accompaniment; prevention education, community outreach, and more. Together, PCAR and its member programs will continue to educate society and its systems about sexual violence and to advocate for better treatment and empowerment of victims of sexual assault. © Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape 2007.
