I greatly care for the elderly & disabled and am concerned with their care. I am obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration Long-Term Care from the University of Phoenix. This degree will prepare me to manage a long-term care facility to include facilities servicing older individuals or those with moderate to severe cognitive or physical disabilities. The first thing I did when I decided to earn a college degree was to do my own research. I followed many steps in order to make my interest a reality.

I started my journey in the field of nursing two years ago. My personal values, combined with the strong desire to help others influenced me to enroll in the Licensed Practical Nurse program. He provided me with handouts for both medical school and physical therapy school which included the pre-requisites for potential acceptance. A degree in Kinesiology coordinates perfectly with medical school and physical therapy schools in relation to required courses. I am aiming high in hopes of attending medical school, but will increase my chances of reaching my career goal by applying to physical therapy schools as well. Working towards a common goal requires being able to articulate thoughts and ideas with clarity and conciseness. Members of the interdisciplinary team must be able to explain the plan of care to client in a manner that is understandable; only then can the client make an informed decision regarding what treatment will be in their best option. Patients and health care providers must have a trusting relationship and open communication to enhance the possibility of better outcomes.
