My third difficult was the first time when I saw a book in English here in this country. I remember I could not understand anything in the TV, magazines or newspapers. I think that my ages slow me down in the language process. Age is very important to learn because when you are young the brain is brand new and like a sponge that catches everything. Julia had this advantages and that’s why she learned faster and better than me.
Unit 4222-324 (HSC 3029) Outcome 1, 1. Explain the importance of meeting an individual's communication needs. The importance of meeting somebodies communication needs is because if they cannot communicate effectively then you can understand what they are trying to express. Different people have different communication methods or methods that they prefer to use, so we should support them when using their preferred method of communication. Without communication people cannot express their needs or wants, so therefore it is a basic human right.
In the beginning, when Elijah joined the army he quickly wanted to fit in with the other soldiers. Since he was raised in a residential school and had a natural talent for language, he quickly mastered English. Elijah then chose to use a British accent when among the other soldiers. “Dear Henry,” Elijah says using their code, “would you be a kind chap and make me a cup of tea?” (144). Elijah decided not to speak Cree when around his peers.
This class was only for students that are not from Unites States and had to learn English. I had couple friends that spoke my language which is Russian/Ukrainian but I wanted to be friends who are from here. For some reason I didn’t like hanging with friends from Russia because it doesn’t do any good for my English and I wanted to get used to America more. So I tried to make friends that speak fluently English, I though it’s going to be easy to make friends… I was wrong. People looked at me differently like I’m some kind of bad person because I was Ukrainian and none of American kids wanted to be friends with me, instead they pushed and ignored me.
In that since why teach the computer programs and such when all of those things are constantly changing so they are going to have to re learn everything they were taught every year. Dr. Stoll says all they really need to know is how to use “a word processor, manipulate a spread sheet, know what a database does, be able to use e-mail, and know how to use the internet.” Lastly Dr. Stoll says that computers are hindering our students basically because they allow the students to take the easy way out. They really do not have to use their brain muscles at all and I quote, “Instead of asking whether or not technology can support the curriculum into a mold so that computers and calculators can be used.” In conclusion the idea and theory the Clifford Stoll has seems to be very true and you really cannot deny that because all of the signs are true and every supporting statement that he uses is true because I have either seen it happen or it has happened to me….but hate to say it, I still like to learn from
A Summary of Unit One A Summary of Unit One As writers sometimes you will need to summarize someone else’s thoughts or ideas. In order to do this properly you must, briefly restate, someone else’s content, in your own word’s (Behrens & Rosen, 2013, p. 3). When writing requires paraphrasing instead of quotations the writer needs to understand the work then put it to his/her own words. Quotation are only used when you need to use the exact language of someone else, these should be used scarcely. When writing, knowing how to write a summary, paraphrase, and quote a source is key conveying your ideas without plagiarizing someone else’s.
Looking at his surroundings he sees a German flag on one of the bags next to the lieutenant. THAT WAS IT! The Germans were the Korean’s allies and he spoke German. Before coming into the war, he was a German teacher at the Savanna High School so he spoke German fluently. This was his one opportunity to get himself back to safety, one chance to save his own
Although there are good resources in place to nurture and challenge students in our schools, the methods of assessment for placement are out-dated. The Nagleri and the Iowa Test of Basic Skills are used, along with EOG scores for grade 3 and above and prerequisite course grades for high school. There is little staff development in gifted education, but each of our AIG teachers are fully certified. In both the K-2 nurturing program and the grades 3-8 content replacement, students use critical thinking skills and real life applications of these
I told him that, M&M speak in English even though I did not teach him. He told me that, it is their innate ability. He can recognize letters and pictures at the age of two by pairing them according to their groups without me facilitating him. The Doctor also suggested that he should be enrolled in a speech school and attends his therapies regularly but I cannot afford the financial expenses in that school and the therapies suggested by him. I decided to personally handle
I am fully aware of what people have said about me: I’m an egg who went to Oxford or that I was a German spy who is now living a copacetic life. The truth is I am actually a pretty simple fella – born and raised in North Dakota with my mother and father. School was important, yes, but I knew I was made for something more than just the usual life of a farmer. I was feeling restless. “Instead of being the warm center of the world, [North Dakota] seemed like the ragged edge of the universe” (p. 3).
