Proper strategic planning determines the success of a company’s future. A company develops a strategic plan by first performing a SWOTT analysis on the business. A SWOTT analysis is a situation analysis of an organizations internal strength, the weaknesses of the company, the external opportunities and threats of the company, and the trends of a company (Business Dictionary, 2011). The Coca Cola Company is successful because it performs a SWOTT analysis on the company to pinpoint the areas the company should focus on to improve the organization.
These overall improvements have been a step in the right direction for Lowes’ future. These improvements however do cost money but like every good business man or woman knows to make money you sometimes have to spend it. So this can affect Lowes financial planning in the present and future, currently sales and profits have grown because of the new mobile devices therefore the risk factors are minimized due to the knowledge that these improvements are working but Lowes must continue to analyze the cost for these new improvements every year make sure these things do not become a financial burden. Therefore cost analysis is one factor that can affect the financial planning of the company also minimizing the use of these devices to only the stores is another factor that needs to be considered in the financial planning process. Many interesting points were raised during this discussion and it was enjoyable to read about different views others had. A common theme was caring about customer satisfaction, this can be through either the quality of the product the business is serving or the service that employees are giving directly to customers. Another common point was marketing; marketing fits well within the customer category as this will bring in customers old and new and keep them interested in the business. One point that was not discussed in the forum that I thought about after was the product or service a business has on offer, without a good product or service there would no business.
