In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, Macbeth feels guilty after slaughtering King Duncan whereas Lady Macbeth is unfazed. To begin with, Macbeth feels that he is not honorable enough to have the title of Thane of Cawdor. Macbeth hears a voice cry “‘Glamis hath murder’d sleep’, and therefore Cawdor/Shall sleep no more” (2.2.46, 46). Here, Macbeth does not think that he deserves the title because he dishonoured the king who gave him the opportunity to succeed. It is quite ironic how the original Thane of Cawdor was a traitor and now Macbeth follows down the same path.
Furthermore he imprisoned monks. Finally John was cruel because he hated his wife because in a source from Matthew Paris it says ‘he hated his wife’. Also in 1194 he beheaded French knights before he became king. This evidence seems to show that John had many faults and he shouldn’t have been king because he was too cruel which wouldn’t have been good for the barons or the people of England. And he taxed people too much which would make the people rebel against him.
To what extent do you agree that Chaucer presents the Pardoner as sinful as the other characters? Some may assume that the Pardoner was presented by Chaucer as one of the most sinful characters in this Tale. The character of the Pardoner is a self-proclaimed fraud, and slyly tricks people out of their money for a living. At the beginning of The Pardoner’s Prologue, The Pardoner indirectly admits to his crime, “…Ycrammed ful of cloutes an bones- Relikes been they, as wenen they echoon.” This suggests that the relics that The Pardoner sells to people do not belong to a real Saint. Chaucer uses The Pardoner’s character as a voice to reveal how corrupt the Catholic Church was in his time.

King Creon’s irrational edict stated that any man who dares to bury Polyneices would suffer death by stoning. Is it a mere human’s prerogative to determine another man’s eternal fate? Because Antigone had nothing left to live for, while knowing the sentence of stoning, Antigone defied King Creon’s edict in order to fulfill her duty.
Proctors actions made him not belong to the town for he was a sinner and had gone against the church. Proctor had a choice to stand with the rest of the community or go with his wife. He first belonged to the community in fear and at a point did not agree or deny ‘”I have no knowledge of it ;the bible speaks of witches, and I will not deny them”( proctor act II). His moral standing is challenged where proctor must choose between living in a town with a sense of not belonging and contributing to hysteria or stand beside his wife and hang. ‘for now I do think I see some shred of goodness in John Proctor’ (proctor act IV) proctor referring to himself in the third person shows he is reflecting on his decision to sign the confession, he finally sees he is doing something right by the woman he belongs to.
They both changed the church by limiting its power over land and many followers of the church ran from the church joining either the Church of England or joining the protestant reformation. They both gave the people a choice from just being a catholic they could be a part of the Church of England or become a protestant. Their choices affected everyone that came after them day we are affected by these men’s choices. Although these men are alike in some ways they are very different. Luther wrote the “95 Theses” because he saw that the church was doing wrong and he decided that it should be changed.

Soaphead Church can be labeled as a ‘people hater’ who prefers objects to people. While, writing his letter to God we find him even crazier then before. We also know how Arthur became a leader and how he pulled the sword out of the stone. He is portrayed as a leader who is not easily manipulated.
