THE 115 Friday, August 31, 2012 Project #1 – Pantomimed Scene Emmanuelle Bailey-Greene Enter room I’m coming into my room in the morning. It’s a weekday. At this point, I’ve taken a shower, gotten dressed, and let the dogs out. I’m putting on makeup because I’m feeling a little bit insecure about my appearance. My hair’s probably not done and I’m a little dehydrated, so the makeup will make me feel better. Sit down at vanity It’s an old wooden vanity with four drawers and a circular mirror. I’ve had it for a couple of years now, so I’m very familiar with the placing of everything. I’m sitting down at the vanity because I’m too tired to stand up and do makeup in the morning. It also seems like a more romantic process than just doing makeup in the bathroom mirror. Open top right drawer The top right drawer always sticks a little bit because I spilled juice in it a long time ago and never bothered to properly clean it up. When I open the top right drawer, it makes kind of a scraping sound as well. I’m opening the top right drawer because that’s where my makeup bag is. I put it there because it’s the most convenient place for it. Remove makeup bag The makeup bag is always on top of everything. It’s a small, black case with “Chanel” written in red right in the middle. It’s surprisingly heavy, but the weight is comforting because it always feels the same. It’s made of a plastic type material that’s always cool to the touch. I’m removing the makeup bag so I can set it on the vanity and start putting on my makeup. Unzip the bag, open it, and set it on the vanity The bag makes a very distinctive noise when I unzip it. The zipper is pretty standard – black, two zipper handles, cool to the touch.
