Using the words “bad”, “good”, and “you” frequently helps to dumb down such an intimidating essay to help the level of the obvious content meet the level of the writing. By writing this essay from the eyes of a child, Dillard is able to approach this difficult subject using simple language without seeming like she is questioning the intelligence of the reader. As the passage continues and we are finally told that “Santa Claus stood in the doorway,” Dillard repeats this statement as to paint an image of the scenario for the reader and to reiterate the importance of this moment in the authors life. As the story continues, the author is reflecting back on the night when Santa Claus came and how she now knows it was just Miss White. She refers to this memory of Santa Claus as one that played a part in the “making of Santa Claus, God, and Miss White an awesome, vulnerable, trinity.” This reference of the trinity immediately causes the reader to relate this memory of Christmas to a purely religious experience.
Holden lacks of romance. Holden says throught out the book he wants to give Jane a buzz, but he ends up not calling her. He keeps on thinking about her, developing feelings for Jane but does nothing about it. “I started toying with the idea, while I keep standing there, of giving old Jane a buzz, I mean calling her long distance at B.M., where she went instead of calling up her mother to find out when she was coming home. You weren’t suppose to call students up later at night, but I had it all figured out.
I know these papers are long overdue but think of this as a romantic way of thinking one who does not follow time by a clock. Use your Romantic way of thinking before thinking about whether you should give me credit for these or not because a true romantic does not live by a clock with times and dates just as long as the work gets done. Also think about how even if you made both of these assignments open again only the people who are motivated will do the work. The work is getting done before we are done with “A Separate Peace.” Reading1 4) He does this so the reader can really understand and imagine what war is really like and not these guts, glory, and heroisms. That it is full of honor when you are really in complete hell.
The Lottery Plot- The conflict in this story is a simple one, do you follow traditions laid before you even if you know them to be wrong. The story is told in a forthcoming manner which creates foreshadowing to the death of Tessie, and how it will happen. While reading, the beginning of the story you simply overlook many foreshadowing items because you don’t really think twice about it. Your point of view on the story and your attention to detail do not come into the story until you’ve read the story a second time because in all honesty you are kind of shocked at what you just read. The climax in the story is when Tessie begs for her life and no one says anything to stand up for her, instead they all go grab a rock to stone her to death.
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn “Someday you will remember what I said and you will thank me for it” (Smith throughout the whole book) Francie doesn’t really enjoy when people say this to her and wished that they would stop. All these people advise Francie to listen to what they have to say because they know it will help her in future problems. Her mother would say it to her often when she was lecturing her. I always was told this when I was younger and growing up thought it was stupid advice, but now I realize that I really did use their advice in troubling situations. My parents would always tell me this, and still do sometimes.
All effective communication is important as it helps to pass clear, concise, informative, accurate, factual information in order to decrease the possibility of mistakes and risks and error to the people I am working with. If a Service user told you they had brought a surprise birthday present for their mother and they needed staffs help to buy a card later in day and help with ingredients for a cake. If only half the information was handed over or card wasn’t brought this could affect the relationship between service user and staff. A staff member noticed a faulty chair and fails to report it, or fill out damage report, write it in message book or even verbally tell staff. This later causes a service user or staff member to have an accident.
The reader is meant to be able to identify with the magic and beauty of Christmas whilst at the same time it makes them reflect on their attitudes and makes them think what they could do to be a better person in general, not just at Christmas time. The whole concept of the ghosts isn’t just thrown in for the fact that it is a Christmas tale; the ghosts are key elements within the story. They are actually viewed by some people as an extended metaphor, and could be acting as Scrooge’s conscience which takes him through different stages of his life, which in effect means that the ability to be a nice person was within him all
Some people do not enjoy the story during Christmas. They think it is a very unhappy story. But Christmas is the perfect time to read the story. Christmas is the perfect time to learn about yourself and change for the better. The following paragraph will explain what the three ghosts showed Scrooge.
She is cute and smart. Before I know her, I always believed that “you are my friend, so you must be friendly to my and you can’t ask my to do anything I don’t like”. It sounds a little overstatement, but I never do something for my friends forwardly before and hoped them to do so. It’s my birthday then, I got into the classroom and something really surprised me. She sang birthday song and carried gifts to me with my classmates.
Finally, I decided to go and give the postcard and see what happens next. I came to her, told her: “Happy Valentine’s day”, and gave her the postcard. I thought she will put it underneath the others and read when she gets to it, but instead she was so happy that she put away the one that she was reading, opened my, read it, and all she said was: “Thank you very much”. I turned around and went to my seat. I wasn’t expecting her to give me something back or to tell me that she loves.
