All these side effects if this keeps on going that chemical reactions are once in the atmosphere, it creates acid rain and smog for the climate. Other sources of air pollution can come from within buildings, such as secondhand smoke. Air Pollution is a global problem in all
The Impact of the Industrial Revolution on Our Environment The Industrial Revolution had a large, negative impact on the environment. Before the Industrial Revolution most peppered moths in Britain were white, however, the amount of coal and pollutants produced during the Revolution changed the color of the moths' environment. Soon, the darker moths were more well camouflaged, and the white moths all but died out. Peppered moths were not the only creatures impacted by the Industrial Revolution, humans and domesticated animals were also effected. “Industrial Britain was hit by an outbreak of cholera in 1831-32, 1848-49, 1854 and 1867.” ("Diseases in industrial cities in the Industrial Revolution" 1).
They lose their habitat and forced to move to new location; besides, many cannot survive the deforestation that destroys their homes. It is undeniable that deforestation itself has extreme effect on Global warming and hurts the air. Global warming means that air and ocean temperature is increasing. Greenhouse gases exist primarily because of human activity. Unfortunately, humans are the most polluting species on the planet.
Global warming has been an issue since factories were introduced to this world; gases and toxins are being highly exposed into our atmosphere causing a tremendous reaction to the balance of nature. This is where one ecological system cannot function without the other throwing off the equilibrium in the world, and causes bad weather patterns. Scientists since 1970 have been warning the government that automobiles and factories are emitting a high level of
The main polluter in the world is nowadays the industry. Among other detrimental things, industries use lots of fossil fuels as oil, gas and coal which are the main sources of pollution. The industry has been the one who pollutes the most. There are many industries around the world that using the fossil fuels are making too much smoke that pollutes the environment because of the emission of gases and harmful substances on the air. Those gases can spread locally or at big distances contaminating big areas.
The high content of carbon causes global warming and global warming causes climate change. These changes are destroying our blue planet and making the ecosystem become sicker. Unfortunately, all the high content of carbon was released by human activities. We must reduce Carbon Dioxide emissions in the next two to three years, or we will lose our natural environment that we depend upon for survival. The 11th Hour shows us the consequences of irreversible global warming that have already begun to affect our life and environment.
Environmental health Unit 38 P1 Explain how human activity can damages the environment For years now we have been warned about human activity destroying our planet and environment. Some of the things that humans are affecting are Climate Change, Depletion of Ozone Layer, Pollution, Deforestation and Extinction of Species. Overcrowding, urbanisation and population growth Overcrowding can affect our planet more than some people think, Overcrowding means more people this means we use more natural resources this means the earth in the end isn’t going to have enough resources to support the growing population. Remember every person on the planet takes up space which could be used for farmland, and forests. People excrete wastes and litter that flow into water systems, and animal habitats, this is slowly polluting water and killing wildlife.
Furthermore, mercury spreads and destroys plants and animals in the area. All of the above help to cause the greenhouse effect, affecting global warming massively. If this continues the oxygen throughout the world will decrease. A staggering 40% of the world’s oxygen supply comes from the rainforest. Statistics state, and I quote; “at this rate the rainforest only has 28 years left “.
The report (UNEPWMO, 2004, P10) also pointed out, the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation are altering the composition of the atmosphere and contributing to climate change. In addition, changes in land use play an important effect on climate. For instance, deforestation, desertification, urbanization and agriculture can contribute to climate changes and increase carbon dioxide emissions.
Acid rain as a result of industrialization has had many negative effects on the New England region in particular. The Adirondack Mountains are of special interest due to their soil composition that does not allow for the seizure of the two primary particles in acid rain. This has caused issues pertaining to the water reservoirs in the area that now are sometimes unable to support life do to the high acidity. Acid deposition as it is more formally called is typically composed of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide. These two components are naturally occurring from sources like volcanoes but the industrial revolution has exponentially increased the amount of these chemicals in the air.
