There appears to be many people, things, and situations causing Jennifer stress and affecting her health. I believe trying to be everything will drive you crazy and Jennifer is trying to tackle an administrative assistant job, a wife, a soon to be mother, and a daughter and daughter-in-law, and be the best at everything, but it is killing her. Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl exposes the physical and emotional abuses of slavery, especially on the female. Life was very hard for women at the time and she exposes the harsh reality of what these women went through. These women slaves experienced a more horrific and traumatic side of slavery then men. They were sexually exploited, they were psychologically confused to womanhood, and they had to endure the hardships of motherhood in very harsh conditions.

Workplace violence against nurses is escalating, causing more and more nurses to walk away from their career because of violence that has happened to them. Some of these nurses are leaving because they have been injured to the point of being disabled, either physically or mentally. Violence toward nurses has detrimental effects not only on the nurse but also on the patients. For example: if a nurse is always worried about being hurt by a patient how effective is that nurse going to be?
Imagine a world with no discrimination against women. In this fictitious dimension, there would be no degrading stereotypes or insults pivoting around females. Unfortunately, we live in a misogynistic world filled with hateful comments spewed out carelessly against women. I used to be under the impression that sexism was not as important as other societal issues, such as racism. It was only after analyzing “Antigone”, when I started to understand the gravity of how persistent and awful sexism has been over the years.
Gender discrimination leads to psychological and emotional disturbance, resulting in demoralization and descend in performance standards. It brings down the overall performance, and fuels more discrimination, which in turn increases the number of gaps in ones work further. After Ms. Salazar had been let go from her work, she had difficulty getting back into the workforce and putting effort into the tasks she was doing. She had later lost her home and had to move into a much more affordable accommodation due to her not finding a stable job. Ms. Salazar was not able to reach the full potential of the American dream due to the gender discrimination she had experienced in her workforce and the negative aftermath it had done to her psychologically.
