Environmental Management Biosphere – The global sum of all ecosystems. The biosphere is the global ecological system integrating all living beings and their relationships, including their interaction with the elements of the lithosphere (land), hydrosphere (water), and atmosphere (air). The biosphere interacts with and exchanges matter and energy with the other spheres, helping to drive the global biogeochemical cycling of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur and other elements. From an ecological point, the biosphere is the "global ecosystem", comprising the totality of biodiversity on earth and performing all manner of biological functions, including photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, nitrogen fixation and denitrification http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biosphere http://www.eoearth.org/article/Biosphere?topic=58074 Environment - Our Environment is our surrounding. This includes living and non-living things around us. The non-living components of environment are land, water and air. The living components are germs, plants, animals and people. http://jharenvis.nic.in/files/Protect%20our%20environment.pdf Ecology – Ecology is the scientific study of interactions of organisms with one another and with the physical and chemical environment. http://www.bcb.uwc.ac.za/Sci_Ed/grade10/ecology/introduction.htm Ecology is a science that contributes considerably to our understanding of evolution, including our own evolution as a species. All evolutionary change takes place in response to ecological interactions that operate on the population, community, ecosystem, biome and biosphere levels. An understanding of ecology is essential for the survival of the human species. Due to rapidly increased population (approximately six billion) the earth’s resources are being stripped at rates that cannot be replenished. Furthermore, social, economic and
