Entourage Entourage is an HBO television comedy-drama series which premiered on July 18 2004 and concluded on September 11, 2011. “Entourage” was directed and written by Doug Ellin and follows the acting career of Vincent Chase, played by Adrian Grenier. Vincent Chase is a young A List movie star and along with him he brings his childhood friends from Queens, New York as they adjust to the often hectic and stressful life of a movie star in Los Angeles California. The show has two executive producers, Doug Ellin and successful Hollywood actor Mark Walhberg. The show is largely based on Walhberg’s life and Vincent Chase was envisioned to be similar to Mark Walhberg, but in a more fictionalized and toned down way due to Walhberg’s past of crime and violence. Along with Vincent comes his best friend and manager, Eric Murphy, played by Kevin Connolly. “E” as his friends call him, is based on Mark Walhbergs friend and executive producer Eric Weinstein. Vincent's older half-brother, Johnny "Drama" Chase played by Kevin Dillon, is Vince's personal chef, trainer and bodyguard. Johnny is a C-list actor who was in the fictional show Viking Quest during his younger days. Rounding out the entourage of friends is Salvatore "Turtle" Assante played by Jerry Ferrara, who is another of Vince's old friends from childhood. Turtle's official role is as Vince's driver and assistant, though his value as such is often brought into question. This character is based on Mark Wahlberg's former "gofer" Donnie Carroll aka "Donkey. Another main character is Vincet’s agent, Ari Gold, who is played by Jeremy Piven and had been nominated for several Emmy Awards for his performance. Ari Gold is an abusive, foul-mouthed, yet lovable agent and my favourite character in the show. Entourage constantly had A list guests on the show including Eminem, Scarlett Johanson, Kanye West, Jessica Alba, Peter
