Morawetz’ compositions have been commissioned by internationally acclaimed artists and have garnered him many awards. Oskar Morawetz was born in a small town in Czechoslovakia in January of 1917. Following the footsteps of his older brother, Oskar was started piano lesson at the age of 6. As a young child he was give piano music and piano reductions of operas and symphonies. By being forced to play through the pieces, Morawetz increased his knowledge with the composition of each individual piece, allowing him to be familiar with a large variety of the musical literature.
He wrote his first symphony at the age of eight, his first opera at twelve and conducted twenty performances of that opera at fourteen. Wolfgang Mozart, a musical inspiration, influenced many musicians through his passionate works of complex styles of classical music. Known as one of the most accomplished composers of the 18th century, Mozart began composing music at age five. He wrote his first opera at age twelve. Mozart’s father, “a violinist at the court of the prince of Salzburg,” taught him how to play the clavier and encouraged him in his art (“Wolfgang” World History).
The French court ballets used fancy costumes and scenery to establish a loosely linked dance sequences. Royal Dance Moves King Louis XIV founded the Academie Royale de Danse in 1661 and performed for nearly ten years. He commissioned Jean Baptiste Lully, a composer, and choreographer Pierre Beauchamp to devise his company's performances. Here, the history of ballet vocabulary was introduced, and dancers dared to try spectacular jumps and acrobatics with ballet's realm. Early ballet featured only male performers.
The two composition are significant among Brahms other works as they stem from a period in Brahms life when he just embraced the beauty of color and sound of the clarinet. In addition, the two sonatas were the last chamber pieces Brahms composed before his death. He notably prepared an oft-performed transcription of the sonatas for viola, and altered the register to suit the instrument. While at his Bad Ischl retreat in the summer of 1894, Brhams completed the two sonatas. The two sonatas were reportedly first performed for Duke Georg and his family privately in the September of 1894.
He began attending the Kiev Conservatory in 1912. Afterwards he attended classes at Gymnasium (Russian High School) where he learned to play multiple instruments in many forms, including: Opera, Italian, French, German and Russian. It was also at Gymnasium that he learned to play music from memory. At the age of seventeen he played his first solo. Glenn Gould had a similar musically influenced Childhood.
The significance of this paper will enhance one’s understanding of two different composer’s intentions in their interplay of water with the use of musical elements. In the following paragraphs, the similarities and differences of the musical elements used by the different composers, as well as the context in which the pieces are composed and background information of the composers will be further elaborated below. Franz Liszt is a Hungarian pianist and composer who lived from 1811-1886. He studied and played at Vienna and Paris and for most of his early adulthood, toured Europe giving concerts. He first started his music lessons in the court of Count Esterhazy when he was six years old and at the age of twelve, he left Vienna to travel and in Paris.
By 12 he was contributing to the family income by giving music lessons. Mertz eventually devoted most of his energies to the guitar, but it was not until he was 34 that he moved to Vienna to launch his career as a concert guitarist. He appeared in a concert at the Hofburgtheater in Vienna in November 1840 under the patronage of the Empress Carolina Augusta. The success of this concert introduced Mertz to the Viennese social, political, and artistic elite. Attesting to his early Viennese triumphs, guitar music by Mertz was first published during this same period by the prestigious Haslinger publishing house of Vienna.

Classical Opera's expansion and evolution owes a great deal of gratitude to the Baroque era of the early eighteenth century, but where Baroque opera was mainly designed and created for aristocracy or royal audiences, Classical opera branched out as a form of musical entertainment for the general public using the opera house as a center of experimentation. The population of the middle class would eventually become the mainstream participant engaging in opera entertainment as a response to aristocratic forms of opera. Some of Baroque's composers like Handel and Monteverdi used speech-like melodies in polyphonic textures in a linear-horizontal dimension consisting of continuous melody with wide leaps and chromatic tones for emotional effect where as classical composers such as Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven incorporated homophonic textures of chordal-vertical dimension with melody in balanced phrases and cadences with diatonic scales involving narrow leaps in their compositional works. The Baroque expressive effects of chromatic harmonies established in the major-minor key system with very brief expansions to other keys would evolve into Classical opera's favoring of diatonic harmonies expanding on the tonic-dominant scale which became the basis for classical opera's large scale form.
Lecuona was also a noted pianist and conductor. Ernesto Lecuona wrote more than 400 songs, 176 pieces for the piano, 50 theatrical pieces, 31 orchestral works, 11 soundtracks for the cinema, 5 ballets, one trio and an opera. But it is above all the hundreds of interpretations of pieces such as Siboney, Para Vigo Me Voy (Say Si Si), Canto Karabali (Jungle Drums), Maria my Own (Maria La O), La Comparsa and Malagueña that helped him achieve his international popularity. Musically, his work for the piano introduces elements of remarkable originality despite having dealt in a non-avant-garde ambient (which Lecuona did not like, despite actively having supported the initiatives of contemporary music played in Havana. To the influences of the “refi ned” music of the first half of the century, he adds a re-evaluation of the Spanish tradition, and additionally Cuban, in a classical key.
A court musician is an individual that plays for hire. Court musicians usually shared their abilities off during banquets, weddings, and other events. Mozart was among one of the most versatile composers of his time. During his early travels, “he became a master of opera undermining other musicians with his supreme abilities to coordinate music and stage routines” (Music 179). “From 1762 to 1791, Mozart traveled to other countries and nations such as London, Berlin, Munich, and
