English Is A Winner English language, as of today, has come to be known as the global language of the world. And apt it is, as the language almost single handedly, links the entire globe together. It is an international language as more than sixty percent of the world population can communicate in the language. The language truly has become the unofficial language of the world. Look around and you most certainly would find something or the other that is written in the English language. The importance of English language cannot be disregarded. It is spoken, read or understood in most parts of the world. Wherever you may go Europe, Asia and Africa or in the Americas, in Australia or the North or South Poles you will find someone of the other communicating with you in English. It is rightly taken as the lingua franca, the common language in all parts of the world today. There is need to learn and use it in our country even though we also need to develop and adopt our own national language in all fields of life. Most developing economies give the importance and due respect that the language deserves. The language has got such huge acceptance that children are encouraged to learn it from a very young age, even if it isn't their native language. English has great importance in the global education scenario as well. For the purpose of distance learning or even attending colleges abroad, English is the medium of instruction. Exams that test an individual's knowledge of English like TOEFL and IELTS are getting increasingly popular. The importance that the language holds is signified through this. Globalization has reduced boundaries and English as a language has helped in it hugely.
