When home video game consoles were first introduced they were very basic; a video game cartridge was placed in the counsel, power to the counsel was turned on and voilà, consumers were able to play 8 megabytes of Mario Bros. until their thumbs bled. As consumers of video games got older game consoles became more advanced. Today game consoles are more comparable to a computer than a child’s play toy. The Xbox 360 runs on a powerful graphics card and has over 1000 video games to choose. If games are not a priority, the Xbox 360 has dozens of applications which allow you to do everything from check the local seven day forecast to stream movies directly to your living room. The Xbox 360 also comes with several accessories to make the most out of your Xbox 360 experience. The Xbox 360 is sold at competitive prices and can be purchased cheaper if a savvy consumer knows where to look. A merger of form and function, Xbox 360 wraps powerful technology in a sophisticated exterior. Two of the most innovative design firms in the world, San Francisco based Astro Studios and Osaka, Japan based Hers Experimental Design Laboratory Inc. came together to craft a sleek, stylish system that conveys the very essence of Xbox 360 (Berardini, 2005).
