The Name of my endangered species is the Jaguarondis or Herpailurus yaguarondi.the Texas status is still endangered and the United States is not far off from it will still being endangered they were listed endangered on 6/14/1976.There Description is slightly larger than a house cat. Weighing around 8-16 lbs. their coat is a solid color. A brown or a charcoal gray color. The Natural Habitat is that most are found in the dense thorny shrub lands. They are mostly located around south Texas in and Brownsville, Texas. The numbers that still live in the wild is not totally accurate they are unable to estimate how many are still left in the wild. The jaguarundi is a quick weasel like manner. They eat small rodents, bird’s rabbits pretty much anything that they can find. They mostly hunt on the ground, but they have been seen climb up and down trees if needed. Many suggest that they are mainly good swimmer and they will enter the water freely. They mostly live alone unless it is mating season, but for some reason they have been spotted active at night time but have also been seen to walk around during the day (I guess their bored) they live to about 16 to 22 years in captivity or until mature. Many people are trying to rebuild the dense brush that was cleared to due urbanization. But they are very rare in Texas since they are in endangered. Hopefully rebuilding there habitat will help them to rebuild. And that was my endangered species.
