As humans we fear many things in life, fear of failure, loss, and fear of being hurt. In society yet humans continue to make war and kill each other and those murders don’t happen because of natural disaster. Conflict is caused when we fear something therefore we fight to protect them. Humans wouldn’t be killing each other if humans weren’t afraid of them. As an example from the movie “Two hands “we noticed, when Jimmy was trying to deliver the money which Pando gave him as his first job, unfortunately Jimmy lost the money on his way.
In "Are Families Dangerous?" Barbara Ehrenreich discusses how "media fixations" are recently allowing us to see the true grime that is our ideal family system. Ehrenreich's main contention is that families "can be a nest of pathology and a cradle of gruesome violence." She states that somewhere inside us, whether or not we want to believe; we know that this is going on around us, and media representations are outing the evils of family life. Implying that families might not be the shiny, happy role-players that we all would like to think of, she speaks of the unthinkable, gruesome crimes to the weak, and infirm, of these so-called families.
From the fear that parents have on their children about being in the right crowd, and making sure that they are kept safe from abductors, to the constant fear of a terrorist attack taking place on US soil, to imprisoning innocent Japanese-America citizens just because of their ethnicity. We have seen one constant the whole time, and that is one group of people suffering from real problems and issues while the media blown up stories, and fear driven messages are getting all the attention. This is because people have a tendency to pay more attention to the problems that are “advertised” The media and government know this, and use it to their advantage. It’s ironic that the very man who gave this quote about fear is an example himself to the world, that the only fear, is truly the fear of the
Hurt People Hurt People Theory Critique Liberty University Concise Summary of Theory Hurt People Hurt People by Sandra Wilson is a very interesting and intriguing book to read. Sandra Wilson focuses on the fact that we as people who have been hurt in turn hurt others because that is how we are made, how we were taught and all we know is hurt. The book focuses on three main questions; can I be safe? Can I be me? Can I be accepted?
Conflict can present itself in various forms, it can occur in many different places, willingly or unwillingly affecting a person’s mind and action. It is in the times of conflict that the strengths and weaknesses of individuals are revealed and their resilience tested. When an individual is forced into a position, in which they are not comfortable with, the outcome can either be devastating or can either spur a person to change their life for the better. In times of hardship, an individual must have or find the physical and mental strength to persist in their conflict in order to find a resolution. In Najaf Mazari’s autobiography, The Rugmaker of Mazar-E-Sharif, the author not only exposes but also is exposed to the many physical, physiological and social consequences of war; a war which has weaved itself into the day-to-day lives of the people of Afghanistan, yet it shows that individuals and communities have the power and spirit to survive these terrible ordeals, both physically and psychologically.
Once more, hope is stressed to express the humanity of Iran as the people search and hang on to even a sliver of light in their dark times. Injustice is also present as the government is luring young boys to premature deaths. It demonstrates the flaws of the Iranian people, as they use their agency and do not always make the right decisions, a trait that is common among all people. Hence leading readers to think on how the people make mistakes and how they are ruled by a negligent type of government that has appeared and reoccurred throughout history. These symbols represent how Satrapi uses symbolism to express the similarities of nature between Iranians and the rest of the

War metaphors can also show people the wrong message thinking were the enemies and hate the country. Such as in the text “Fighting Words: The War Over Language” there’s many war metaphors that can be used in non-war words. “As Desert Storm eventually became known as the “Gulf War” many of us wondered if this was the future of the genre (p.71)”. The piece shows that also teachers use war metaphors and us students
Since 9/11, mainstream media, generally, have taken up the cause of the government and fully support the 'war on terror.' But in their zeal to be onside they have set aside their duty to critically reflect on what is happening in our country For the most part, media outlets in this country have been, at best, negligent about covering stories that illustrate how quickly our country is changing and abandoning the values that make it great. The third factor that has helped create and sustain fear is the hate speech of public figures and leaders close to the Bush administration who regularly and very publicly vent anti-Islamic speech. Since 9/11, President Bush has
