The other surprising theme was Developer. As a student leader, I consider it a duty of mine to develop future student leaders. However, I don’t consider myself adept at noticing potential in anyone. I would have to say that my general impressions are wrong until I get to know the person fairly well. The Communication theme is only somewhat surprising to me. I see my communication skills as average. I do fairly well presenting to large groups of people that I know and my communication style is very direct and honest. When I first started out on my path of student leadership, I had no tact and was too blunt. I like to think that I am learning which methods of communication are appropriate for certain situations. I am not surprised at all that I have Includer. This is something that I feel very strongly about. I want everyone to feel like they belong somewhere. This feeling was the main reason I started in leadership opportunities. I wanted other college students to feel like they belonged somewhere. Although this theme is something I am very proud of, it can be a curse too. When planning events, I go overboard on invitations and inclusivity. I have the mentality of “I need something for everyone”. I am also not surprised by the Positivity theme. I consider myself an extremely upbeat and positive person. This is something else that I am extremely proud of. I have noticed that my positivity is contagious. Some people ask me “why?” and I respond “why not?” I love motivating people to feel good about themselves, and I’m always trying to find the bright side of things. I don’t think any of my themes point to the careers I’m considering, but I would like to find out more about these careers. If I can find a job that plays up my strengths and is something I enjoy, I won’t feel like I’m working
