Though this organization was successful, they were not successful enough to be in the stuck state they were in. The growth of the Levon Corporation should have been the primary focus of everyone in the company especially the management team. Even though bringing the project management consultant in to outline to the management team the importance of project management functionality was stubbornly agreed upon it proved to be the first and most important step in the company’s change process. The employees will feel their opinions are suggestions are valued as a result of the management team taking the time to hear out the consultant. The apprehension of the management team is understood because that is the culture; however, once the functionality is implemented and the management team sees the growth and positive change, the company will be more adapt to change.

Functional conflicts are conflicts that are constructive in nature and create stimulating thoughts and problem solving within a group or team through exercises called devil’s advocate or debates. These functional conflicts are actually quite healthy for an organization because it supports company goals and objectives as well as improves performance. On the contrary, dysfunctional conflicts can be extremely harmful to an organization because it can hinder group or team performance. Dysfunctional conflict usually starts when two or more team members don’t get along, are not willing to work together and it is most often personal.
It is important to keep a balance of the important things in one’s life otherwise, weaknesses can be developed that shadows over a person’s natural strength to prioritize. A balance of the important things in one’s life is what allows personal success to be achieved. Successfulness is the ability to seize new opportunities and explore new paths in life. Compromising is also to be used when the techniques of collaboration or forcing do not work. Advantages of using compromise include faster issue resolution, so therefore may be more practical when time is a factor.
