So in class today we watch the movie “elf” and we were supposed to give our opinion of it in class tomorrow. Sure, in class I’ll be nice and say “I loved the movie, oh my god, it was like, so totally good” but I HATED it. H-A-T-E-D. Maybe it’s a good movie to watch in elementary school for a class full of 8 year olds.. but 16 year olds don’t exactly enjoy movies with bad acting and fake Christmas elves. Oh wait that’s not the part thats the cheesiest. One elf is a human and he has to find his place in the world. Yeah so, the main character’s name is Buddy. He was a orphan baby and one night Santa went to his orphanage. Buddy climbed into Santa’s sack of toys because he saw a teddy bear. He rode back to the North Pole and then all Santa’s little helpers were like “Oh my god! He’s seen inside Santa’s workshop. We must kidnap him for the rest of his life and make him believe he’s a magical elf.” So Papa Elf adopts Buddy and raises him as his own until Buddy grows up and realises that he’s a human. Wow, so shocking, it’s like the end of the world! So he finds his real dad who’s name is Walter and he’s onw of those grumpy, workaholics that doesn’t really care about anything except making money. So Buddy acts like a 5 year old and is all “Yay, Christmas! Let’s scare people with how childlike I am and that I believe I’m from the North Pole even though normal people will think I belong in a mental hospital. But anyways, the whole movie is about how you need Christmas spirit and everything and that you should believe in Santa. So James Caan played Walter, the biological father of Buddy. I think he did an outstanding job. He stuck to his character quite well and made it believeable. It was like a realistic way to potray the way an average person would react to some nutjob who thinks they’re an elf and says you’re they’re father. Espically when he trys to play along with
