Elements of Sound The three elements which are needed to create a sound are first a physical object or a person, the medium which is the way that the vibration reaches the third element which is the receiver. These elements are crucial as we study this class because music is the product or organized sounds that convey a message to the listener. Simply without sounds there would be no music at all. All sound are a created through vibrations, everything in the word is moving all the time. Sounds are the vibrations that once they have been interpreted by our brain make sense and are recognize as one particular sound. For example rain drops and a baby crying are two completely different sounds. Musical instruments and people singing are also creators of vibrations which our brains interpret as musical notes, but non less they are sound. These vibrations are carried to the receiver through a medium. The medium is the transportation vehicle which carries the vibrations to its final destination. In most cases air is the main carrier of these vibrations, but we can also find that water can carry vibrations and that this is also a true statement for other many elements like wood, or metal. Regardless of which medium is use it is essential that one is present in order to deliver the vibrations to its final destination. The receiver is the last piece to the creation of a sound, is where the vibration waves are deliver through the ear and carried through the ear drum until they reach the brain were they are decoded and interpreted. With out a receiving end to this chain people would not be able to understand the message and become emotionally involved by the sound. This is one of the reasons way there is so many technology being used to help improve hearing aids, which will provide a better hearing experience for does who have suffer hearing loss. In
