at this stage in life therefore it is important to expose them to as much information as possible so that they may form more informative perspectives. With this exposure we must understand that there are several different kinds of intelligences. A great application of this type of exposure is found in an article from the Tribune Business News called “Students Broaden intelligence with fair.” Students at Mesa Elementary School use the educational theory developed by Howard Gardner that describes an array of different kinds of intelligences. (Castillo, 2008) This school believes that people are smart in a diversity of ways. The school holds what they call The Multiple Intelligences Festival, this festival has been held every year for the last four years.
Let’s take the kids program that can be seen between 6 and 9 o'clock in the morning. Especially young children learn from these programs foreign languages (at least that’s the way in Germany). These are very helpful for their later school life and post school life, were the knowledge of foreign languages helps them to get along in the world. Then we have Documentaries that give us more information about different subjects like nature, mechanics, and new technologies and so on. These documentaries have a great effect on the whole society.
The “big brother” of JROTC offers college scholarships to those who qualify. Membership in JROTC is a perfect start for this. As a member of JROTC one can expect to gain a great deal of self confidence that will become a building block for future accomplishments throughout their life. The programming is geared to build a team of students that work together to overcome difficult challenges and by doing so build their individual confidence as well as team confidence to face any challenge. Camaraderie is further enhanced throughout the program as students wear uniforms at least once a week to display their unit pride.
The world we live in has changed over the years and there is so much technology why not make learning more fun and enjoyable? We now have the resources and lots of teachers with great ideas on how to do so. I look forward to taking what I have learned in this course to school with me when we go back from summer
