Effects of Media on Children and Teenage Groups Media is an inseparable part of life for most of the teenagers. There are different types of mass media that are inherently a part of the routine life of teenagers – for example television, computer, mobile phone or a music player. Considering the current influence of media, we need to agree on the fact that media plays an important role in shaping up opinions of teenagers. Media plays the role of the catalyst between the masses and the society which helps in providing information and making the mass knowledgeable about the topics and issues. It also helps in moulding the behavior of the different target audience. For e.g.:- electronic media such as Television is the greatest example of it. Television is mostly responsible for moulding the behavior on the target audience of the children and teenage groups. Media is an important part of children and teenager's lives and TV has much to offer. But some of what it offers may not be what parents want their children to learn. Sometimes you can see the impact of media right away, such as when children watch superheroes fighting and then they copy their moves during play. But most of the time the impact is not so immediate or obvious. It occurs slowly as children see and hear certain messages over and over. Children who witness violence on a daily basis are much more likely to solve conflicts in a violent way. Media is also responsible for shaping up the career of the teenage groups which are at the verge of becoming professionals, but are confused to go ahead in which direction. This is the time when the media plays important role in helping the teenage group by exposing them to the scopes in the related field they are willing to go.
