They reduce the formation of free radicals in the body and protect the cells. The second benefit of this tea is it can help improve brain function. Because of its caffeine content, it can stimulant the mind of the person. Caffeine also works with the amino acid L-theanine for the improvement of the various aspects of brain function. L-theanine also counteracts with the stimulating effect of caffeine that is why it has a milder effect than coffee. The third benefit of green tea is it can increase fat burning, and it can boost metabolic rate. Some studies have shown that it increased energy expenditure and fat oxidation. Because it is a powerful source of antioxidants, it was shown that green tea can reduce the risk of cancer, which is caused by the uncontrolled growth of cells.
