People who go to college now pay to go there and if they fail a class they just wasted a lot of money. If the government paid for everyone’s education then no one would think they would have to work hard and they would think they would have to work hard and they would end up failing once they moved in to there career. The only people that deserve to go to college for free are people that earn a scholarship or those who apply for financial aide. These programs are there for the people that have the desire to go to college. Most people that think a higher education should be free are not very wealth but there are programs like financial aide to help them if they have the desire to get a higher education.
Outward Bound gives scholarships out to the less fortunate public students that are financially unable to afford their adventurous programs. Due to the financial difference with the corporate clientele, they will not need to provide scholarships to the target audience of the PDP classes. Increasing the PDP program will increase the age range of students attending the school and the amount of people attending school. The majority of people that enroll in PDP courses
Of course the normal person would love to have thirty days of paid time off that rolls over if not used. It sounds like a very good career but the average person doesn’t see the grueling and intense deployments these young men/women have to endure. I have experienced for myself and I believe that there is little balance between there work and the enjoyment of recreation in their life. If anything these sailors are underpaid and over worked. The government needs to implement a plan where there is more time at home and less time out to sea without jeopardizing the United States sea power.
A few of these include the ability to get a better paying job, the flexibility for more job opportunities that I will be qualified for, and a more stable life for me. With the failing economy having a large impact on higher paying jobs in the area we live in a college degree will help me to get a better paying job. Due to the fact that there are so many unemployed people in the area we live it is hard to find an entry level job that does not require some type of schooling after high school. Most jobs that are available to me currently with just a high school diploma are minimum wage jobs. Thus, with the cost of living rising and the constant rise in everyday essentials such as gas it is hard to live comfortably on that type of pay.
It may not surprise people but, it’s not only teenagers that work at these minimum wage paying jobs, there are also many adults that are trying to make a living and are forced to work minimum wage jobs. I am sure they would appreciate a raise, but I believe leaving the minimum wage where its at just forces adults who have little to no skills or education, to go back to school to get the knowledge they need for a career in order to have a more comfortable future. When the minimum wage is raised, businesses have to raise the price on whatever products or services they offer, to offset the loss of profits from having to pay the employees more money. With products more expensive, consumers
Supporters argue that it is unfair that people can work hard, and put in a 40 hour work week, but still not make enough to support their families. Critics of the wage increase say that raising minimum wage would force employers to fire employees, lower their hours, or used automated machines rather than human workers. Some critics also contend that the jobs that pay minimum wage do not require skill, are for uneducated workers, and are not meant to support a
I worked in burger king this pasted year, and was only earning $8.00 dollars an hour for part-time. This really gives me motivation, seeing teenagers at the age of 21-23 still working earning very low pay, when everyone else is getting paid big time for doing what they love. Just knowing how much more money I’ll be making with a degree! Should help you finish college. I believe every student should have a motivation.
No Shame In My Game Assignment Poor teen’s working while in school can affect each teen differently. Most of us have seen the outcomes of too much work for students. Some people believe that jobs distract students from their studies while others argue student’s who work are building valuable skills. Katherine Newman feels that poor teens’ working while in school positively affects teens. She believes poor teens who work are more motivated to finish school.
A college education, in the world today, allows you to advance in society and earn more money no matter what level you achieve. The workforce is changing so fast regarding degree level to have. When I was graduation high school most people were only obtaining an associate degree. Now the workforce requires you to have a minimal of a bachelor degree for entry level jobs. With the struggles of inflation and the lack of well paying jobs for the young graduates, affording an education after high school is almost impossible.
In America we have child labor laws in place to ensure that employees under the age of 17 years old are not working too many hours in a row or in an overall week. Other countries may not follow the same regulations therefore the underage employees may be working harder than they should be. Another ethical issue that McDonald’s has faced is other countries not accepting them as a decent company. In Europe McDonald’s has come under ethical criticism due to the food health, supposed ill treatment of animals, the exploitation of children as employees, and destruction of rainforests. While some of this onslaught may come because they are the leading fast food organization in the world therefore they are coming under fire because of their size.
