Further, computer and video games offer a way to interact with others in “virtual worlds” without the distress of face to face interactions. This encourages people who find it a challenge in the “real world” to make friends hence these individuals will more than likely become addicted to playing video games. Not all gamers are addicts however, as many teens can play video games a few hours a week, successfully balancing school activities, grades, friends and family obligations. Nevertheless, for some, gaming has become an uncontrollable compulsion daily. Video gaming becomes an addiction when it starts to interfere with a person’s life such as their pursuit of goals.
Negative Impact of Computers in Society Why computers are too much in society? Computers are very efficient in the sense of studies, jobs and communications but computers are getting way too off the line. Computers have had a negative impact on society in three significant areas: personal relationship, health and the economy. Computers are very addictive. It is like a drug when you have taken one you’ll get used to it and then get addicted.

GAMING ADDICTION Anyone who has experienced it knows all too well – video game addiction is real. Although gaming addiction is not yet officially recognized as a diagnosable disorder by the American Medical Association, there is increasing evidence that people of all ages, especially teens and pre-teens, are facing very real, sometimes severe consequences associated with compulsive use of video and computer games. Video games are becoming increasingly complex, detailed, and compelling to a growing international audience of players. With better graphics, more realistic characters, and greater strategic challenges, it’s not surprising that some teens would rather play the latest video game than hang out with friends, play sports, or even watch television. Video gaming has always been frowned upon by some people especially by parents of young children. The rising popularity of video games has instigated a wide range of concerns from those who believe that playing games can corrupt the minds of children, teens, and even adults.
Society’s Dependency on Computers Over the past few years, computers have gone from being a rare luxury to an everyday necessity. Computers are now taking over our world and forcing humans to become overwhelmingly dependent on them. The computer has brought benefits to the world; however, this tremendous dependency can cause many negative effects. The overpowering dependence on computers can cause computer addiction, allows cyber crimes to occur, and is currently replacing manufacturing jobs. Although computers have opened new doors, negative impacts of computer dependency far outweigh any positives.
Aside from the extreme amount of time wasted, video games teach players questionable life lessons. They have the power to mold children into violent criminals and thieves. They have been shown to cause a player’s physical and mental health to deteriorate. Underneath the pixilated fun that video games attempt to portray, is a great underlying malevolence that harms society. Video games have a strong addictive power.

Upon further studies, games are substantially more beneficial than previously thought. Seeing as videogames can be used as a learning tool it may not be as wise to tell a child they can’t play a game because of the harm they can do. Benefits of Video Games Video games have come a long way since they first came out in the mid-40s and its inevitable hit to mainstream in the 70s. With video game industries making games more sophisticated than ever and use of advance technology, video games seem to get ever closer to closing the gap on game and reality. However, as games become more realistic, the question of if violence and adult content that is portrayed in games could potentially have a negative consequence on its user.
Many non-computer science students have their own stereotypes of computer science student. Non-computer science student have belief that computer science students are someone who does anything with computer all day long. Some people also believe that computer science students have a friend, which is computer. Another opinion that computer science student tend to be anti-social, since they are only interact with their own world, which is the computer and stuff. Also, almost every student in computer science field love to playing games, this is one of many reasons that computer science students is different with another major, at least in others major view.
