EDP1 Task 1 As times change, so do the needs and wants of children. So, to keep up with children's ever changing imaginations, literature needs to continually grow to keep the love of reading alive. Children's literature has dramatically changed, since its first appearance in colonial America it has progress with the times to meet the needs of society as well as the needs of the children. The transition of child literature from oral to the present day books can be attributed to the children's needs as well as societies needs. These need were met with writing that were centered around themes that needed to be addressed, from colonial America to the 1960's to contemporary literature.
