Boyd seventh edition Description: This introductory psychology course covers biological foundations of behavior, various theoretical perspectives including learning, personality, and intelligence theories as well as experimental and research methodology. Objective: Master the process of critical thinking while learning about, relating to, and understanding psychological principals and theories. Student learning outcomes are as follow: 1. Students will be able to identify and explain one of the four goals of psychology. 2. Students will be able demonstrate knowledge of parts of the brain and nervous system. 3. Students will be able to analyze psychological disorders, their causes and treatment options. 4. Students will be able to compare and contrast two theories of psychological development. Each assignment is to be completed individually (without assistance) and reflect your understanding of the subject matter. Requirements: Participation and Attendance (50 pts) of your grade will be determined by a combination of your attendance, verbal participation in class discussions and written assignments. Written assignments are due on the date indicated and will not be accepted after due. Exams (100 pts) of your grade will be determined by your performance on two exams.
