If we do not buy imported goods then they will not buy ours and without export revenue and foreign investments we would not be able to function financially. When exports increase so does the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). GDP is the dollar amount of all goods and services produced within the United States. When the GDP is high it signifies that our economy is healthy and stable. When companies can produce more due to demand they are able to hire more workers, which can lower the unemployment rate.
The less expansion, the less inflation. However, if the economy is slowing down, interest rates will decrease. This allows banks and businesses to borrow more cheaply, which results in them being able to higher more workers and produce more goods. The monitoring of inflation is very important in the US. Inflation has many negative affects.
Innovation impacts the cost of production as well. Even the innovation helps in lowering the cost of production and making economies more efficient – producing more outputs with the same number of inputs. Technology affects market structure. In today’s market world, technology advances more rapidly because individuals gain incentives, in the form of profits, to discover new and cheaper ways of doing things. Even the dynamic efficiency refers to a market’s ability to promote cost-reducing or product-enhancing technological change.
The higher the ratio the more assurance exists that the retirement of current liabilities can be made. The current ratio measures the margin of safety available to cover any possible shrinkage in the value of current assets. Normally a ratio of 2 to 1 (2.0) or better is considered good. Short-term creditors prefer a high current ratio since it reduces their risk. Shareholders may prefer a lower current ratio so that more of the firm's assets are working to grow the business.
c) C. A nonunion work force allows a corporation more freedom of movement. A unionized work force has restrictions, allows workers to strike and create work stoppages, higher wages may be paid to workers which would affect corporate profitability. d) D. Inflation deteriorates the value of money, the company can afford to buy less materials/workforce with the same amount of capital as before. e) E. A technological breakthrough would reduce cost of production creating competitive advantage and long term
Under Ulrich, the strategy has been to differentiate their brand by providing high-quality, fashionable merchandise at low prices. However, with the economy in financial mayhem, consumers are spending a lot less than in the past. Target, like many other retailers, may be faced with several significant issues in the near future. Target Corporation
Two disadvantages to automation are that it costs more and it is not easily changed. 6. A products margin is determined by subtracting its manufacturing cots (labor and material) from its price. Logically, higher prices and lower labor and material costs result in higher margins. Keeping in mind the customer buying criteria, how would you increase margins for a low end product?
Suggest why some people and not others benefit from the growth of Transnational Corporations (TNCs) Some people benefit from the growth of Transnational Corporations than others. MEDC’s benefit from the growth of transnational corporation because of cheaper imports from LEDC’s which benefit the consumers in MEDC’s as the prices will be cheaper, resulting in high produce, cheap price and ability to appeal to its market and compete with other companies. Another benefit of TNCS is that the loss of industry to LEDC’s can improve the environmental quality in MEDC’s, therefore reducing their CO2 emission and helping combat climate change. LEDC’s do to some extent benefit, as the workers has access to employment and the development of new skills. This will mean the population will have more money which will go into the economy, this will mean more income for improving infrastructure and services.
Low purchasing power will directly affect the aggregate production, with fewer resources are used, unemployment rate rise, there is less pressure on price, and therefore reducing the inflation rate as the supply is greater than demand. An increase in interest rate will have multiple effects. Firstly it stops firms from expanding, when the purchasing power has reduced, firms sell less and make less profit. Firms will cut the production and size of their workforces to reduce their costs; unemployment rate rise and people are less likely to spend. Secondly, the saving ratio will increase; less money is in the circulation.
The ability to tap into the global labor market will make the company more competitive by being able to offer competitive prices on products due to lower overhead cost associated with the offset in the labor cost. Attracting employees to join the company is the better option unless there is a management position that requires exceptional talent to fill the position. Relocation of prospective employees can be costly to the company and there is no guarantee that they will be long term employees of the company. With the company's plans for expansion I would recommend overstaffing. This will allow the company to stock pile talent for future
