Roles and Functions Paper Nuha Hammad HSC/325 September 27, 2011 Kathy Crawford Roles and Functions Paper For a health care facility where everything is located in a central building, managing is far easier because everything is on-site. For our operation, where trained nurses, coordinating travel time, and in-home caregivers is a far more sophisticated task (Hass, 2006). Having said what are a facility and its different branches, a health care manager is someone that would be in charge of all these facilities. The most commonly cited functions of management are planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, although some identify additional functions. The functions of management define the process of management as distinct from accounting, finance, marketing, and other business functions ("Management Function", 2011). But in my opinion there are many other things that a health care manager should do like being accountable, knowing how to communicate with others, and be trustable. The health care field is a very broad and important field. Our may purpose is to take care of our patients and service them the best possible; so how the health care manager runs the facility is very important. When the health care manager must think about any kind of situation that may happen in the facility. So that reason he/she must know how to work under pressure just in case of an urgent or emergency situation. The most important role of a health care manager is to be control. The other roles are also very important but controlling is the main one. Without control a lot of things can get out of hand. A health care manager need to be able to control that only staff that are working in the facility but also the service that is being given to those patients. He/she must control that procedures and facility rules are being follow by all
