While there, they meet a bunch of 7th graders who are scared of August and start beating him and Jack up. Then Julian’s “goons” come over and help August and Jack escape from the fight going on. When August gets back home, he goes to see the High school play his sister Via is in. He and his family are surprised to see that Via has switched to the lead part of the play. Afterwards, Via explains that Miranda was feeling “sick” and couldn’t do it, so she let Olivia do it.
Hahaha” While one might defend this by saying, that’s high school, kids are mean to each other, and it makes you grow into who you are. Yes, they are right, but when is there a line drawn? Day after day, hour after hour, Patty was being emotionally torn down by her peers. Not only being called the names of “rat” or “Fatty Cakes” but also continually bullying about food. On May 6, Patty cried out to the public, through making a video and posted it on a social media website called Youtube, titling it, “Pretty or Ugly”.
Most of the girls thought fighting was silly. In class we were told during middle childhood friendships were gender-segregated. I noticed this in the film, boys were friends with boys and girls with girls. Although a few did claim they had a boyfriend or girlfriend. I also noticed some of the children had developed self-efficacy.
She has plenty of money and everyone wants to be her friend in the new school she attends. When Liberty accuses a male teacher of sexually assaulting her, the rumour’s start. Val, her new best friend, is torn between believing Liberty and trusting her old friend Ryan when it comes to the truth. Everyone wonders what is the trouble with Liberty? I really didn't like the book when I started reading it.
By the nurse saying yes, and by her encouraging the patients to out do each other it is showing that she is gaining enjoyment from their pain even though she is telling them that it is for the betterment of them. Delores umbridge uses bribes to get what she wants. She manipulates her students by telling them they will get extra credit if they join the “inquisitorial squad”. When she suspects that there is something going on behind her back she gets her students to spy for her as she cannot do it herself. She has made them think that this is for them as they will get extra credit for joining, however it is just so she can gain control.
“Bullying is a big problem that effects millions of students, and it has everyone worried, not just the kids on it’s receiving end” (Lyness 1). Bullying does not just affect kids, but the parents too. It affects the parents because a lot of their children begin to be afraid attending school. In the novel Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, Melinda was affected by being bullied lead her to think about suicide, scared of coming to school, and victims like Melinda begin to not care about school and fail. Melinda was affected by being bullied and led to many things and one of them is thinking about suicide.
One article which was a story on a girl who blamed her father for the divorce of her parents, the other was about pregnant teenagers of Hazelwood East High School sharing the experiences they encountered in the school. In order to keep the girls privacy the editors changed their names. Before the article could be published they were removed by the Principal who felt they were inappropriate. The Principal felt that
After the incident Melinda stopped talking completely, and caring about her appearance. To keep herself from talking when she wanted to say something, she would bite her lower lip. This caused cuts and scabs on her mouth, but nearing the end of her freshmen year she gained trust towards Mr. Freeman, her art teacher. She started talking to him, and at the very end she opens up to him, and tells him about the incident. But she didn’t also trust Mr.
1. It all started when a girl in my school was making fun of me, so I wanted to get back at her for the name calling and harsh comments she was saying at me. I had knowledge that she and one of my friends did not get along and I proposed an idea of how she (my friend) could retaliate against her (the opponent). I had in my possession, a nude picture of the girl, and forwarded the picture to my friend via “Facebook”, to upload on “Twitter”. I think I ended up in the Juvenile Diversion Program because the program and I believe that my irrational thinking patters can be monitored and corrected through physical labor and mentoring/counseling sessions.
Eventually I was moved from classes due to my insubordination and i was content at the time. In seventh grade I was still identified as a "Gifted and Talented" student but was in regular ed classes. My rebellion that year was much worse than the year before. It was mainly caused by the people I would hangout with and of course myself for letting myself be influenced by them. I started skipping class, leaving the campus and just generally not caring about my education.
