Critique if the evidence valuable for nursing practice? Identify if the evidence is: primary research, an evidence summary, an evidence-based guideline, or none of these? You will need to know the definition of filtered and unfiltered sources of evidence? When searching for evidence, we have to be able to discern the difference between filtered and unfiltered sources or databases that store evidence. Both are valuable and present – but they are different in their purpose and credibility to us when we use evidence. Here is a link from our COS that defines Filtered and Unfiltered SOURCES or databases that store evidence for our use: http://www.biomed.lib.umn.edu/learn/ebp/mod01/index.html in the COS in talks about filtered, unfiltered, etc. This resource contains information regarding the filtered and unfiltered Sources. They all but tell you how to assess a database in this tutorial. Unfiltered sources are databases that rely upon you to search and find within their database.
